  • Has anyone used Co Enzyme Q10?

Would just like to know if anyone has used co enzyme q10 to aid in weight loss and has it worked? Also would like to know if you felt better i.e. more energised? I would love to know as it costs a fair bit for a supplement. I am in the uk and it costs £18.99 for 30 x 100mg tabs.

I know this was posted some time ago, but I thought I'd give it a go since you still haven't gotten any replies...

I use CO-Q10 and have been since the first time I used it during my very first go around at induction. I decided to take this mineral because I definitely needed the extra energy and because it's great for heart health. I was taking 300 micrograms in the beginning to boost my energy and it worked great! Now I only take 100 micrograms because I have the energy (so far). I am contemplating on increasing the dosage since I have been having issues with high blood pressure since my last pregnancy. This mineral does wonders in that matter. I even buy it for my MIL who has high BP and heart issues. She's also had nothing but great experience with CO-Q10 and always asks me for more.

Even though it's a bit expensive, it's definitely worth a try!

I've taken it in the past, but stopped because I couldn't tell a difference. However, I have friends that could tell a difference, so for them, it's worth it. I think it just depends on the individual on what to do. If you *can't* tell a difference, then do you continue to pay for these supplements in hopes that they're really doing something? I thought about starting them again, but my money always seem to go for something else.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

I take CoQ10 but can't say it aids weight loss. I take it primarily to combat muscle soreness that comes from taking statins like Lipotor. Some research i did found that statins deplete CoQ10. In fact one of the pharma companies has a patent on combining a statin with CoQ10 but I do not know if they ever put it on the market.

honestly I think it works. I started taking it a few months into the diet. and i had been loosing very slowly.. like 5 lbs. ever three weeks. once I started taking it, i lost 3 lbs right away with in two days, then two more and so on and so on. I really believe it kicked things up for me. I think my losses are more steady, appox 2 lbs a week. and if i do stall out, not usually more than two weeks at a time.

I did take it but I don't think it made any difference for me and at that price I stopped. Glad to hear someone is getting their money worth though.

Doesn't do a thing for me either -- I have 7 left and when they are gone I don't plan to buy anymore.

I never knew it was supposed to increase energy. I take it every day for the heart benefits. I've also read it can help gum and teeth issues, which I have trouble with.

Re: Has anyone used Co Enzyme Q10?

I took it about 15 years ago, and I remember it made me manic. I stopped very quickly. Then I read about in DANDR, and since the good doctor recommends it to the after-40s, I decided to restart. I've been taking 100mg/day and it doesn't seem to hurt. Though that is hardly the result of a double-blind test.
