Bio requested info on Olive Leaf Extract. This is my # 1 favorite supplement I take everyday. I believe everyone that takes this supplement will benifit from it. Here are some resons why-
Olive Leaf Extract is an anti-fungul, anti-bacterial and anti-viral. A safe antimicrobial that has been used for dietary support in controlling many viruses, fungi (mico toxins), bacteria and some parasites.
Olive leaf has been used for thousands of years. It is the first botanical cited in the bible (Ezekial 47:12) as a natural healer: "The fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine."
Dietary support to protect you against strains of bacteria, fungi, and viruses.
Take 2-4 capsules per day as a maintenance level. Take 4-5 capsules per day for additional support, for up to ten days. Olive leaf can be taken with or between meals, although it is preferable to be taken one half hour before meal time.
For throat irritation, you can open a capsule, dissolve the powder in a 4 oz glass of warm water, gargle and swallow to help sooth the throat. The powder from the capsul can also be applied topically directly onto external skin irritations- a drop or two of water can be added to make a paste and gently rub onto the skin. The skin will absorb the powder and it's light green narural coloring. (the color will wash out with warm water and soap).
For irritations of the mouth and gums, pack some powder directly onto the irritated tissue and allow it to slowly dissolve.
Olive leaf is commonly used to fight colds and flu, yeast infections and viral infections such as hard to treat Epstein-Barr disease, shingles, and herpes.
Olive leaf is also good for the heart. It has been shown to reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or bad chloesterol. Researchers have found that Olive Leaf lowers blood pressure and increases blood flow by relaxing the arteries.
Olive leaf harbours antioxidant properties that help protect the body from the continuous activity of free radicals. Free radicals are highly reactive substances that, when oxidized, can cause cellular damage if left unchecked.
Some recent research on the olive leaf has shown it's antioxidants to be effective in treating some tumors and cancers such as liver, prostate and breast cancer but the research on this is preliminary.
It should also be noted that studies demonstrate that the extract only attacks pathogens and not friendly gut bacteria, just another benifit over man-made antibiotics.
Personal Note- I've been taking Olive Leaf Extract now for 4 years. I havn't been sick with any colds or flus and believe it's because of the benifits of Olive Leaf. I have also found it to be benificial against allergies. My favorite Olive Leaf Products are made from a company called Seagate. I do not work for this company. I'm just a healthy customer. They make olive leaf ear drops, throat spay, nose sprays and capsules, plus more.
