  • Mulit vitamin question

Hi! I'm getting back on Atkins after too long a "break". Regardless, in researching vitamins, and please correct me if I'm wrong, it appears that a "Silver" type without iron is a good choice. My problem is the nickel content as I believe I have an allergy and avoid it at all costs.

Does anyone know of a good vitamin without iron or nickel?

Also, is there any reason not to take l-carnitine and l-glutamine at the same time?

    Thanks,

    Michelle

Check out Buy Discount Vitamins, Supplements, Low Carb and More at www.Vitacost.com. They seem to have a good selection of vitamins at a fair price. They might have one without nickle. I think you can take both l- together. I do

No reason not to take them at the same time. Sorry about your nickel allergy. What makes you think you have an allergy? Have you been tested? Nickel isn't something that I normally look for, so I can't tell you which brands have them vs. not. Good luck on your search!

Thanks, everyone! I picked up a multi from Nature Made. Hope they're worthwhile.

Biogeek, I think I have a nickel allergy due to my severe reactions to plated/coated/cheap jewelry. I'm not certain that a vitamin containing nickel would bother me, but I would rather skip it instead of finding out.

Here's my supplement list so far:

            NM Multi for Her 50+
            NM Super B Complex
            NM Flaxseed Oil

I feel like I should add calcium -- thoughts? Also, between the B complex and multi, I get 330mg of Vitamin C per day. I have to look at my nutritionals book tomorrow, but I don't feel that's enough.

I would add C I think, I take 1000 mg a day and seem to avoid the colds and coughs going around. Make sure you keep the Flax in the refrig, it goes rancid really fast.

Thanks for the tip! Is this true for softgels, too?

                  I would think so.

I don't wear cheap/costume jewelry either because it makes my ears infected. However, I never thought about avoiding ingesting any. That's something you can ask your doctor and get his/her opinion. I'll ask mine when I see him next. Thanks for pointing that out.
