  • Anyone taking CLA? I've had success

    Hi folks, I have been taking CLA for a month. It is supposed to help the body get rid of fat, so decided to try it. I lost 8 inches (just one arm and one leg) all over in March and 6 lbs (I had been at a stall for 2 months). I lost 2 inches on my fatty abdomen and shockingly, 1.5 inches around my lower thigh!

    I have no idea if this loss is partly due to CLA, but may be worth checking out. I take 3000mg. per day (3 - 1000mg capsules). It is kind of expense, however.

    No Weigh Until Christmas Day!!!

    Hi G-Mom, What a great transformation you are making. You do not look like the same person from your before picture! WOW!! There for a while I had not seen much of you on this board. Glad to see you back. I can see you have been busy though. Have you made it to 100 pounds lost yet? Let us know when you do. Congratulations on your super sucess. :joy

    I have not tryed the CLA I don't think. I will have to try it out. I'm still working on loosing in the belly.

            just rememeber Dr Atkins said you need to keep your EFAs that would be the Omegas 3-6-anf 9 in the correct rsatios and if you up the 6s which is what CLA is then you need to balance it with the 3s and 9s too. tCheck the vitalnutrients part of our part fro some good posts by Book and Shawnee about them

              Hi G-Mom,

              I take 6 1,000 IU capsules of CLA and follow Dr. Atkins recommended dosage of L-Carnitine which is between 4-5,000 mgs a day too.

              I've read a good deal by both Dr. Atkins and others about the powerful benefits of taking L-Carnitine and CLA together.

              If you haven't read Dr Atkins Vita-Nutrient Solution I really recommend it, it's an easy informative read and full of invaluable information.

                  you want to checkyour foods too for the L-cartinine as that too can be gotten from out Atkins foods. the L- formisused primarily in the brain and the Acetly-L form in mitochoinfria for transporting the fattyacise from the outer meemberane to the inner memebrane for further reduction. The human body can change one form to the other and will keep a reserve but it does not excess and you will urinate it out so again don't gulp down more then your body needs. Once you have peaked you can cut the amount back.

                  Shawnee had some studies on that as a cholesterol lowering agent too that he posted in the vitanutrient section so it seems we need it and can use it for more then just weight loss and craving controls.

                      I took CLA for about a year when i started atkins, I stopped taking it last year. I've since started again, i'm pretty convinced it helps with my body fat %. I only started taking it again a month ago, but i feel like there's a bit of a differenc. It's not a miracle suppliment, but i do think it helps.

                        Thanks for letting me know. I'll have to look for it the next time we go grocery shopping.

                        Wow! With all the supplements I take it seems my pills could be an extra meal!!
