    It's official......

    I am totally legal and able to post here now.

    I am 50+.

    and FEEL BETTER THEN I DID 10 or 20 years AGO!!!

    WOOOOOOOWWWWWHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOO!

    Welcome welcome and welcome.
    I don't remember that turning 50 was as hard as turning 40. Turning 60 was a cinch. I think I slept thru it. LOL

      50 dont mean nowt Bren. The time scale is only significant because we choose to count in tens, and because of the completely arbitrary length of the day and the year.

          You know, turning 30 just about killed me. My birthday's in August, and I was depressed the entire summer. Then, on the day itself, I didn't feel any different, so I was fine.

          When I hit 40, I remembered the 30's incident, and didn't let it bother me. Then, on my 50th birthday, I received a card from my old roommate who'd been with me that 30's summer. The front wished me a Happy 50th, and inside it said "Makes that depression when you turned 30 seem silly, doesn't it?" I got such a laugh out of it. Funny thing is, I don't feel any older now than I did that day I turned 30. They're just numbers, nothing else.

          I hope your birthday was a happy, festive one, Brenda. And, welcome, as an "official" member to the old folks forum!

            I thought 40 SUCKED. Now, I'm on the brink of 50 (6 weeks to go) and I feel sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooo good. Its all due to Atkins and my running! Bring on 50+!!!

              It's been about a month for me now...and 50 was harder than 40 for whatever reason. I feel fine, but it seems as though people expect me to actually be mature at this point rather than a 16 year old trapped in a 50 year old carcass...very strange.

                      Welcome Bren to the oldies but the goodies forum.

                      Wonder what it is about turning 30. It about killed me, but I kept my pain to myself. Now I am 55 last June 30th, so you see I am on my way to 56.

                      I don't feel like I think a 55 year old woman should feel like. I feel young, even if it is young at heart!!!
