  • TIP FOR GETTING YOUR WATER DOWN...

    Here's what is working for me.... :icondance

    Well, first of all I figured out how much I was supposed to drink...and it was 64 oz per day plus one extra glass for every 25lbs I had to lose (75lbs)....that was the easy part...LOL

    Next I went out and bought 4 vivid red 20 oz plastic Coke glasses...I keep a full one with me at all times....and I leave one empty one in each room that I use regularly. If I forget my full one in the bedroom then move to the living room, seeing the red glass reminds me "where is your water"....and I go get it. I sip it every few minutes and sometimes just force myself to take a quarter of a glass at a time...I don't like water really except when it's 90 degrees and I'm dying of thirst....so this isn't easy believe me.....but...now that I lost 10lbs on my first week of induction I'm really enthusiastic to DRINK MY WATER! I guess I know I can drag this thing out and not drink the water...or, drink the darn stuff and get this weight off as soon as possible....psychologically...I only have to drink 4 and a half glasses of water a day...(because their 20 oz glasses). Being as the glasses are vivid red I can't miss them when I enter a room. Also, I asked my family to remind me...if they see me anywhere without a red glass beside me they say "Mom, where's your water"...this helps too.

    That is a good idea. I have eight 20 ounce bottles of water in the frig every night. I drink until I've emptied all the bottles throughout the day. Then at night, I refill them and put them back in the frig for the next morning. This works for me and I am getting so I feel naked without my bottle by my side.

        I don't like it either and you would think as long as I have been on this way of eating, I would get use to it.

          I just found out it is easier for me if I buy the case of 20 ounce bottles of water, put five in the fridge for the day and start in sipping them when I get up. Some days it's easier for me than other days to drink it.

          I used to drink a lot of Diet Rite so this is pretty easy for me considering I'm not thrilled with water either.

            What's worked for me is...I play games with myself. I need to drink 5 bottles-24oz size. I take to work with me one serving of almonds, I eat an almond then drink some, same with anything else I take to work. After three bottles I am allowed to have a cup of herbal tea. If I have drank 4 bottles by the time I get home from work I am allowed to have a cup of decaf coffee. Then I can leasurely drink the remaining bottle throughout the evening, however I usually end up drinking an additional bottle before bed. A bottle goes to bed with me also... :yes

              I am with you my friend. Finding a good tasting water is really a chore also. Most tap water tastes metallic. I put water jugs in the freezer and freeze them solid and then drink them over the day. Sometimes I put in a slice of cucumber or lemon or both just to mask the taste.
