      Me too!!! Rhonda!
I couldn't figure out why everyone else was loosing and i was either staying the same or gaining. I knew I was doing what I was told to do, but until I cut, all dairy, all nuts, and artificial sweetners, mayo, processed foods, like bacon, ham, canned veggies. I was going NO WHERE, fast!
Now I eat pure meats, eggs, pure (atkins approved) veggies fresh or frozen, olive oil, fresh spices, salt, and fresh ground black pepper. This is called Gold standard. It is extreme and not everyone needs to do this, but it has made the difference as night and day to me.
One of the reasons my diet is so extreme is to control the overgrowth of yeast(candida) in me. Everything is working for me and I feel like a million bucks now.

If anyone is experiencing, yeast infections, your weight loss has haulted for weeks/months, you may need to check out the information about KISS and Gold Standard. This can make a difference in success and failure.

I wish everyone much success on the weight loss journey we are on.

Becky Sue, I was wondering does the overgrowth of yeast ever go away totally or is that something that recurs? By the way, congratulations on your progress!

Martha. I wish I could say it goes away. But from all I have read and experienced, I will be able to control it, but will have outbreaks with it, from time to time. I have it under the best control at the present, but it could come back anytime. I am not eating anything that can feed the yeast, and I am taking nystatin(Dr prescription). So I am crossing my fingers that I am doing all I need to do.
Having yeast overgrowth can do so much to me. It can cause me to stop loosing weight, when I should be. It can make me itch and burn(you know where) :mad2 , sometimes I will be so tired with it. It can be terrible. It can make your mind(foggy), you don't think straight, that is what I read.
thanks for asking. This info may help others that are wondering about themselves.

keep hoping Becky Sue it sometimes takes up to a yr to totally clear it out. Areyou using an probiotics to help keep the nasty yeastes down as you clear them out. The bacteria make the intestinal enviornment nasty for the yeasties but not for you.

                2Big,
I do take acidophlisis daily, caprylic acid. I even have ordered some supplements that they say gets rid of yeast. They haven't come in yet, but when they do I'll start taking them.
the dr. gave me nystatin to take for 2 months. He said it just rids the candida out of the gut and intestines, so I am all for that. I feel a whole lot better.

On Adele's web site it will tell you about, KISS(Keep It Simple, Sweetie). and Gold Standard.

KISS is for dieters that are not loosing eating within the Atkin's WOE. Or it could be that you were loosing for a few months then come to a screeching hault, like I did.

Gold Standard is a strict form of KISS. It is for the dieter to get control over Yeast overgrowth , of which I have been working on. When you have an overgrowth of yeast it can cause stalls on weight loss too.
So you have to turn into a pretty good detective to try and figure out what is happen and why you aren't loosing.

I feel like Inspector Clueso and I have figured out what is working for me. I just hope it keeps working.

KISS and Gold Standard is very restrictive and only used for dieters having stalls that don't break. But believe me KISS and Gold Standard does work. I am living proof.

If I can help anyone with this, contact me and I will help as much as I can.

                    Happy Low Carbing!!!

                      Thank you so much

Thank you so much Becky Sue for sharing. I have been LCing off and on for many years. I did just as Dr. Atkins said and gained back the weight I had lost slowly but surely. I am now well aware that this is the WOL for me. The KISS method sounds like the plan I had devised for myself when I previously lost weight. I had to adhere to the meat and allowable veggies very strengently(very little else) or the scale did not budge. I appreciate your story and I know how dedicated you are. It is great knowing that there are people like you, who are so willing to help others in a similar circumstance. I am hoping that I do not have to give up butter, cream and mayo. I am really counting the carbs this week and will know if I have to do a little more detective work for myself after this month.
