Have I told anyone yet that I have retired? Just making sure. LOL
9 months in and I can tell you, retirement is a blast and I love it and recommend it to anyone who is interested.
Make sure you have enough money so you won't be pinching pennies, but also remember your expenses will go down. Do you know I haven't purchased any pantyhose in 10 months. Wow what a highlight. My food bill has gone way down, cause I have time to cook and rarely go out to eat.
Think about what you always wanted to do when you grow up, and start practicing for it now, see if its really what you want to do. You can volunteer for most jobs from being an accountant to zebra herder (docent at a zoo)
Unfortunately, there is no, repeat no excuse for not exercising now, so you have to start looking for that perfect exercise. I do water arobics and the lastest thing is hiking on trails. I have joined a volksmarching group and have logged in about 35 miles on Mt Rainier Trails.
And the best part about retirement is that I am collecting SS, and a pension and if I want I can still work but its going to be at a job I love. (Walmart greeter has it's benefits, can you imagine getting paid to smile and welcome folks all day. )
