  • This WOE sharpened my sense of smell and I can clobber DH

He sits on the couch stuffing his face with Braches chocolate stars and containers of chocolate frosting. and toast with peanut butter.
    I could clober him.

I need to get a phone jack in the bedroom so I can get away from the the smell. I want to be with him but he actually eats this stuff all day.

Ihave to keep telling myself, how much I really want to reach my goal. I set it for July which would be an average of just under two pounds a week. That's to allow for plateaus, etc.

How do you deal with these foods in the house right under your nose?

    Your right, just clober him.
Its difficult but while my hubby is eating his favorite, rice cakes with peanut butter and raising, I just go raid the refrig for something I can eat. I keep it full with lots of snacks and glare at him if he even thinks about eating my stuff.

I noticed that sense of smell thing, too--isn't that odd?

I do fine with DH's snacking except when he takes a peanut butter sandwich to munch on IN THE CAR.

Makes me want to cook up some salmon to snack on in his truck..... (EW)

My DH doesn't eat that stuff all day, but he does eat it and I can sure smell it. He is and always has been thin, so he needs extra carbs to keep his weight from falling. After a year on this WOE it really doesn't bother me. I'm doing what is good for me and he is doing what is good for him. Fortunately many of the carbs he likes to partake in aren't that appealing to me anyway. He loves to have a big plate of fried potatoes for dinner every week or two. I fix it for him, but ewww - I didn't eat it before Atkins. He doesn't care about crackers, bread or rice and those were my downfalls, so it works out pretty well. He keeps his candy stash in his desk, so it's not out in the open to cause temptation. I try to make sure and buy things at the store that are his favorites as well as what I need and everyone is happy.

I think clobbering him would be better! I have gotten snacks for me, like my cheese sticks which he eats and pork rinds which he does't like.
I bought the cheese sticks so I could leave one on the night stand to eat in the morning with a pill before I get up.

Peggy, love your photos. I'm and inch taller than you but yours have given me an idea of what to look forward to when I hit 130s.

Debby, mine isn't and doesn't need the things he eats. Thats neat you don't care for the things he likes. It's not the same here though. I like those foods a lot, I won't say I don't. And of course the fruits I really enjoy aren't that good for us.

I like your photos tool. As the weight has come down your face looks younger and younger.

Thanks for the compliments! This is the first time I have been this small in about 10 years. Being 53, I didn't know how things would go back in place with so much weight to lose. So far, so good. I'm even losing the jawels on my face.! I thougt I might be stuck with them at my age.

I am really glad to have a supportive husband. I think this time he realized pretty quick that I was really serious. Other times, he has suggested ordering pizza or brought me home milk shakes, so I have been on both sides of the slope.

P.S. Go ahead and clobber him!

You're 53!!! Seriously the last photo had me guessing you were in your early 30s. I was afraid to put a price range on you when I asked. I didn't want to offend you if you were younger.

I'm 49 and still hoping my stuff will shrink down a little. I'm only doing the stationary bike at this time.

                What exercises are you doing?

Thanks! I am blessed with good skin genes. My mom still looks pretty good at 75.

I am doing water aerobics 3 days a week, trying to walk at least a mile at least twice a week, and exercises with 5# hand weights for that upper arm flab which I have had lots of for a long time. :raving I have an exercise bike that I bought a long time ago. It really helped alot then, but it is in the basement and I hate going down there and don't have a good place for it upstairs.

I was not very good about exercise the first 8 months on this WOE, but I am trying to make up for it now. I still have lots to lose, so I may be pretty saggy by the time I'm to goal. I'm glad that we're not posting naked pix on here! You might change your mind about the early 30s!

A lady at the gym I go to, had gastric bypass 9 mos. ago and :yikes it sure makes me glad I didn't go that route. Her skin is hanging all over. She swims for exercise and wears a full body suit because of all that hanging skin. I am confident that even after losing 160# on this WOL I won't have the problems she has. Sure hope I am right.

Good skin means a lot in the age process.

I know what you mean about exercise bike. I put mine in the bedroom.
We have waterAEROBICS IN THE SUMMER.

I don't like exercise but it is one of those things I HAVE to do.
I can't change my mind when I'm in the early 30s. I have already passed that number.

How much weight did the lady with the gastric bypass weigh and how much did she lose? I had it done 9 years ago and am hoping my tummy doesn't bag. I have some toning tapes from Richard Simmons that I want to start using to tone my arms.
