  • HAPPY NEW YEAR

:wave Hello Everyone and Happy 2005!

Today is the first day of the rest of my life...I want to start Atkins again, but I am afraid of all the fatty foods that are recommended...I did it before and failed. I need to try it again... :nod Today is the day!
I will be 62 in June...I want to live to see that day. I hope I can be as successful as others I have read about. I do not have any support system here...only you. I count on you for words of wisdom and encouragement. :help I can't measure myself or take my photo...I am on a very low food stamp budget so I know this may be hard for me... Guess I just have to do one day at a time. ensive I enjoy reading all the daily menu ideas...Please help me with your induction menues. :help I need some Atkins Buddies...lascott@efn.org

    Linda :wave ,

You'll do great. The ha is a great support system and Atkins works. Don't forget to include exercise in your plan. I know I would have lost even faster if I hadn't waited to get moving the first few months. I watch for sales and use store brands as much as possible. Stick to the basics and stay away from the expensive frankenfoods and you should be able to stay within your budget. Good luck to you!

      Thanks

ha Thanks for your message...I had a pretty good first day...Not hungry at all...still have dinner to go and lots of water yet.

As for exercise: It is very hard for me to do that any more...even walking hurts so bad I really have to force myself to do that. Most of my home life is sitting in front of the TV or Computer. Then when I go to work, I sit for 4 hours with only 15 min dinner break...as a result I have blown up like a balloon (I retain fluids).

But Now: I have a "Walk Off The Pounds" tape that does a mile in my living room for rainy days and days I am able to do more. This is a good start for me...Plus I do have to walk to my bus every day (about 10 min. walk). I also have a Richard Simmons "Sweatin To The Oldies" tape...I just have to get myself to USE THEM. :icondance

Just start walking slow until you get used to it, if overdue it you'll quit as most do if over do it.
read the book, buy the foods, eating veg and salad is not expensive, don’t use frankenfoods, those who do are the ones who seem to fall off wagon, don’t fall off as you'll gain quickly and each time it is harder and harder to climb back on you can do it, read lots, get inspiration from others and love yourself so you can plod along.
