  • Checking In To Say Hello

:wave :wave Hello Everyone: Day number 9 for me and still ok...I have not been on the scale again yet (I am afraid of the scales) I don't know what I am doing with the numbers, but I have been diligent in sticking to all the acceptable foods for induction...I am feeling better physically (I don't wheeze so much any more or have the dry broncial cough I had) My stix are pink (moderate) a couple days ago, haven't checked again yet. Cravings are gone, except dark simi sweet chocolate. :sarcasm Sometimes after I have eaten all of my "meals" for the day, I get hungry before bedtime...is it ok to eat another piece of pork chop or meat? I guess I am still worried about the extra fat .
    :raving
I am under my water count and exercise...I am still a couch potato...I sit too much in front of TV or computer., plus my job requires me to sit..

Hope this finds everyone doing well. I am really tired and must give it up for tonight...I have been awake since about 5:30 this morning. :yikes

Thre are too many threads on this board...never know where to post so that I can say hi to all the board...Tonight I picked this one.

Have a Great Sunday...Looks like snow here in Oregon. ensive

    Hi and welcome to ha

Sounds like you're doing great. YES, it's fine to have a snack in the evening, if you're hungry. High fat/protein snacks are best.

You need to stop being afraid of high fat, because that's a requirement of this WOE. You need to be eating about 65% of your calories from fats, 5% carbs and 30% protein. You can use fitday.com to make sure you're on the right track. Fat is the KEY to success on this WOE! I know it's hard to give up the old concepts, but you really need to.

Glad to hear you're not a "scale slave" That's a good thing. Have you taken your measurements yet? That is another great way to keep track of how you're doing -- especially if that scale refuses to budge. Often you'll find you're losing inches instead!

    Keep up the good work!

Hey girl, day 9, that’s great, I am day 7 and feel good too.
      No cravings.
Yes if hungry have a snack, Joan gave excellent advice.
Idea is to use good fat as it stops hunger, cravings and its good fat so clears cholesterol too.Its trans fats and carbs that increase body cholesterol. Did you get your blood work done prior to starting, its fun to compare it as you go along.
      Hang in there.

        Thanks for the Encouraging Words

:dancing Hello again...Thanks for the encouraging messages you all sent. Today is day 9 for me...Like I said before I have been "clean" since Jan.1...I still need to focus on more water and exercise, but overall I feel like I have done well... :clapping

And I do feel physically better. No I did not get blood work done before I started, but I do not wheeze like I did before (I used to sound like a toy tea kettle when I breathe). Also I do not have my constant dry bronchial cough that was driving everyone crazy...and I do not wake up in the mornings with as much morning clogs...maybe these ailments have been an allergy to wheat products or dairy. Now I am looking forward to not having all the Brain Fog that Dr.A spoke about in his book...I have had lots of Brain Fog for a long time... :confused

Today my ketostix was still nice and pink...And I did get on the dreaded scale.....the needle kept teetering on 257/258
So I see it at maybe 3 pounds DOWN
The old me would have said 2 down, but now I choose to see it as 3.

So that is my Yahoo story for today...I don't know if other parts of the Forum will see this or not, but I feel like I want to Shout it to all of them...

Please keep up the encouragement, and help me to stay motivated. Thanks...and Hugs.
        :hug

Great job keeping with it Caligirl. This is day 9 for me also. I was so scared to get on the scale too.. well scared.. excited.. anxious.. all those things. Was so glad when I finally stepped on it tho. A whopping 10# in 9 days. I am so :icondance Seeing the scale move sure makes it easier to keep drinking the water and exercising.

:clapping Yahoo for You! 10 pounds in 9 days?! Oh my goodness!! That is what I want to do...I want that feeling of joy that you must have right now. :icondance Would you mind sharing with me your menu and exercise routin during this past 9 days...I am going to continue with Induction at least until I see 10 pounds down...maybe I could use some of your strategy. ensive I agree that seeing the scale move is a big insentive for all of us. It really gives me a boost of confidence...Yes, I know that we need not compare ourselves with others, but my own self esteem over rides that kind of logic...

              Congratulations---Keep up the Good Work...

                hi there
this is my 9th day also. weighed in on my week and had lost 10 I am drinking 100 ounces of water a day or more and now walking 2 1/2 miles per day. I am not gonna step on that scale again till monday. I too am afraid of the scales. I dont look forward to stalls but I know they will come and just hope i can stay faithful to the plan when that dissapointment comes but for now I am happy. I think it doesnt matter when you eat as long as it is no carbs, so if you get hungry you should eat some meat or something. strange how this works huh? I was always told fat makes you fat...so we shall see. keep up the good work and just start moving a little bit. anything is better than nothing

Del welcOme, but just remember Atkins isnt no carbs, its low carbs, 20 and under for induction then move up rungs as your body agrees
