  • Newbie!

Hi :wave - I just found this site and it's exactly what I need! I lost 25 lbs. in 2003 but due to lack of will power, moving, etc. etc. - who needs all the excuses, huh! - I gained 15 lbs. back :anger . I'm ready to get back on track and get those 15 lbs off once and for all!

It's 2 pm on 1/11/05 and I just decided I'm starting induction right now!

Oh yeah, I am 51 - so I do meed the 50+ requirement :yikes - hope to meet all of you soon!

:wave Hello Deb and Welcome to this board...yeah, you are in the right place...

I am CaliGal, originally from California, but now live in Oregon. I am also known as AlansGrandma on other sites. :dancing

I too am still an atkins newbie...started Jan. 1, 2005...11 days into the new year and I am still doing ok...down 3 pounds the last I checked. I still have doubts and issues that challenge me, but I will keep going. I will be 62 in June, filing for Social Security this year...I want to live long enough to enjoy it and spend time with my grandchildren.

This board is a real esteem booster...You will find many good words of wisdom and experience from here--Listen to them...in site of any doubts. ha

          Thanks for the welcomes!

Hey CalifGal, I live in OR now too - originally from IA. Kinda cold here right now!

Sharon, I'll try to play on some of the other threads also, but sometimes I get kinda quiet and a little insecure, so tend not to respond a lot - but I'll try!!!!!

Canuck, I'll check out the induction 2005 thread and see about posting there too - I really want to stay on track this time. I feel so much better when I do this - but then that darn piece of cake or cookie or something bad just calls my name and I forget I don't feel as good when I eat them!!!!!! Hoping this re-induction gets me going again!!!!

            Welcome Deb, :wave
I am a newbie too. Started induction 1/1/05 and cant tell you how pleased I am with the program. I have read the book at least 3x now, and when those old cravings plague me I get out the book and read parts again.
I am from ND lived there my whole life except for a short stint in Colorado when I was married to a military man. I am just turning 49 and after reading the book I knew this was the WOL for me. For me, this isnt a diet- it's like a new religion and I'm hooked and loving it!!! :icondance
