was minus 57 C other night, wind chill horrendous, do any of you recall when younger the cold cold winters we used to have, I lived in the north and it was lie this all the time,well not quite.... now when it gets like this we all whine and cry
We used to wear bread bags in our boots to keep warm and our boots would feeze rock hard and we would grab the back of the bus and hitch a free ride to school hanging on the back of the bus as we had no money for tickets. It was called bum shining and was a word unique to that part of the country. now if my kid did that i would freak!!!
We were kewwwl. so we thought. LOL

I remember the cold. We would pray for cold weather so school officials would call off school. Then our whole block of kids would go sledding? (go figure ....too cold for school.. not to cold for play). We were lucky enough to have about 2 snow days each year since we live in North Dakota. Believe me, it really has to get cold here before they call off school.

Now today is plus 1 about 38 and raining, go figure!!!

LOL wow and I was complaining cause the ground froze and I had to get a digger to pull up some garlic for dinner

oh you little suckie you, but you folks had those bad bad winds, we saw on news.
hmm fresh garlic, nothing beats it for sure......i lvoe that smell, the squirrels stole alot of mine this summer.

hey we got down to 8F yesterday :yikes :yikes :yikes and remember our insulation R value isn't set for that temp here so it was cold inside and out. Glad I got gas heat and not that TVA pushed electric heat pump stuff cause it don't work well when it is below 20 F outside
