Has anyone who did follow the WOE say a decade or more ago experienced any extra problems that they can put down to the age gap?
Like you Elizellen, this has been my only experience with Atkins, so can't compare to other diets of my younger years. I just found (predictably) that it really is harder (or rather, slower) to lose the older you get. This difficulty I experienced with other diets after the age of 40, much more than with Atkins, which took me to goal with relative ease. (Yippee!)

I know that for me, it seems as tho my weight came off easier this time, altho all the previous attempts with other programs I failed at. I don't attribute it necessarily with my age, but perhaps wisdom <?> that came with my age, or desperation...lolol. And what really made it easier for me was that I had a book with the program written out (DANDR) along with my own plans/goals. Previous attempts at weight loss came from heresay diets trying to eliminate most everything I enjoyed and walking around aimlessly hungry and frustrated.

I do attribute the ADBB with keeping me focused and enjoying doing Atkins. I like the foods I eat, I (for the first time in my life) enjoy exercising and I never feel deprived/ alone or miserable.
        Starting Date 3/12/04 285/165/145 - F

Dedication gives wings to our dreams and keeps them in flight! In One Word...COMMITTMENT.

The not feeling deprived/alone is fundamental to my success too. Atkins is the only weight loss programme that ever made me not feel that way... all the way through to, and now in, maintenance.

ABSOLUTELY. That is the key to sticking with it for life. Satisfaction!!! I don't miss a thing about the way I used to eat!
