    Re: Where is everyone?

If this is a forum for 50+, I qualify! Do you mean age? Or weight?

I am 50 and have quite a bit more than 50 to lose. I've been on and off this low carb bandwagon, and here I am; back on again. Yeeha!

I will say I feel so much better when I'm eating low carb, but now that I'm 50, the weight just doesn't come off like it used to.

I'm starting again today, and I had to make it official. My husband has absolutely no trust that I will stick to it, so I had to announce my decision to start again to someone. So it's yall! Hope you don't mind.

I lived low carb for 6 years...but that was 5 years ago when Ihad no one else to worry about. Now, I'm remarried and have all kinds of temptations around me. But I've just got to say no.

I guess I"m just looking to be accountable to someone. So, here I am. Anyone else out here?

      Re: Where is everyone?

Hello to all my 50+ sisters ... welcome to the party, BeautyBox and Texas Gal; and thanks very much for the helpful info, Sweet Strudel!

I just turned 57, started out on Aug. 1 with 47 pounds to lose and now have 13 to go until my goal of 140. So that's two strikes ... not a huge amount to lose, and now that I'm closer to goal, the loss has slowed to a crawl. If I drop a half-pound a week these days, I'm doing pretty good. (Although last week I did have a whoosy; finally )

But it's cool. I'm already down two sizes and now even the 12s are getting loose .... thanks to a committment to exercise, the inches are coming off faster than the pounds ... so it's all good!

Anyway, nice that there's a thread especially for us "ripe 'n juicy" gals !

Hey Texas Gal - I'm getting back on the bandwagon today too. This is my first day of induction. I have the 50 pounds that I gained AFTER falling off to lose so I'm right with ya.

I've let my self down a few times trying lately - but this time I'm gonna do it.

Welcome Texas Gal! Hey... kudos to you for having lived low carb for 6 years! That's awesome!

Don't worry now that you're remarried... you'll get used to the temptations surrounding you after a while, and hardly notice them.
I regularly make pasta and bake for my family and, though it was hard at first, it soon gets much easier. There are also so many good substitutions for those carby foods you used to love. The board will give you lots of inspiration and tips.

LOL I will go for "determined"!

Oh by the way, the before and after pics of all of you gals have me so determined! I want to look like me again!

Thank you for that info also! It all makes sense... so, I am going to hang in there. If I don't lose inches in 3 weeks.... the coffee will have to go. (Yes, I am cheating there...but that is my only cheat) lol!

Some very interesting information, thanks. And I agree, knowledge does make things easier.

I haven't given up caffeine yet, I'm finding it very hard to let go of it. It makes me sad just to think of it.
