  • Starting over w/ induction - having trouble getting on track

    :wave

Hi, I've been doing Atkins for 2 years now and have been very successful until about 3 months ago. I cheated for the first time back then and CANNOT seem to get myself back on the straight and narrow. I've restarted induction more times than I can count, but I'm doing it again. I work out regularly, but have such a problem with cravings and planning my menus! I've gained 10 lbs back EEEEK!!! I actually never got any further than induction, but kind of made up my own rules as I went for the past 2 years. While I did lose weight, I think that may be the root of my problems (that and planning, planning, planning!). I want to follow the straight and narrow now, but I think I need help.

Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated. I think what I really need is a mentor, but I'll take advice instead.

    Thanks!

I understand your pain and there are tons of folks who have this same issue, once they gave themselves permission to eat that 'forbidden' food, the next time it was just that much easier. ( AND by the way, been there, done that, myself)
So, whats the solution. I don't know as today is my second day on re-induction and I am having a lot of trouble not getting a handful of nuts to eat. They are in the kitchen and calling my name)
But, some things that may help.
Open or reuse your fitday account. It really helps to note things like you have 10 more carb grams to use for the day and where your stats are.
Start a journal and talk to yourself about the goals you have and see what others think. Use it to play in also as thats fun.
Come to this board for support. A simple HELP will bring lots of encouragement.
And make meals that you really love to eat. There are tons of induction friendly foods that you can substitute for the meals your body thinks it needs.
Don't stress on small 'cheats'. Remember this is a lifelong plan and you need to make it your own by finding foods that you love. Its like when I quit smoking. I quit a 100 times before I really quit. You will do the same if following a 'cheat' you think, okay why did I do it and what can I do to not do it next time.
WE CAN DO THIS and WE WILL

    Sorry for the rant
