Re: How did ya do last month

I've been feeling better since I went back to re-induction. I re-read the book the first couple days and recommitted myself to the plan more strictly.

I got the coconut oil and put it in the refrigerator like I read someone had done, but the only way I could get enough out of the container was to take the whole chunk out and use the cheese grater on it. So it's back on my counter now -- I'll have to watch it to make sure it doesn't skunk.

I have upped my biking because with mom being sick it was hard for me to get out and walk as much as I wanted to -- I didn't like leaving her at the house alone and she would practically freak if I talked about leaving. Most times she doesn't have panic issues but when she doesn't feel well she falls back into that. She's had panic issues as long as I can remember - I just didn't know growing up what it was called - I just through she was weird...then I started having them and found the name and how to control them.

Today is a biking day...I also need to mow the lawn again before it rains. I think tomorrow is our next chance of rain I didn't watch the weather real closely last night. I know it's sunny today so I'm going to take that as this might be a no rain day...LOL!!

We've had rain all day. But we did get the new lawn mower today so if it dries up enough tomorrow I might can try it out.

Also, we went to Sams and my refrigerator is bulging with wonderful meats, cheese and fresh veggies. I feel so rich!

Carole, I forgot to answer you question about DH in the other thread, so I'll do it here.

He LOVES the way I am cooking. But he also had an endless stash of pretzels, candies, cookies and such that he is not willing to give up yet.

I am thinking after his next doctor visit, that tune might change!

Re: How did ya do last month

K, I am going to join you guys. So how was last month? Super amazing.... I got a proposal from my dream guy.... now I am getting in shape for a Hawaiian wedding maybe next year....

Weight wise I was up north snowshoeing etc I ate good hearty meals and I put on a few pounds. I was really active though, just to go to get groceries involved walking down a mountain and then coming home meant walking up. It was amazing experience for a basically cosmopolitan gal.

I am following a modified Atkins approach, like 2 glasses of my favourite red wine is a daily prescription .... I mean literally.... by my doctor. Hey, can life get much better?

Re: How did ya do last month

As far as snowshoeing goes it depends where you are I was at Whistler B.C. for a while and they have nature trails. Now as the snow is melting they are hiking trails. Since it is in the mountains some trails are pretty steep others are quite flat but curvy. Something for everyone. There were some very fashionable ladies from Japan in their sable fur coats and latest high heel boots attempting some of the trails....

I like being outdoorsin B.C. Some of the stores had on them the sign "Go Play Outside" and I couldn't agree more. Snowshoeing, skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, tubing anything... in the summer hiking, biking, kayaking (imagine bald eagles catching salmon in the river right in front of you) etc etc.

Now I am back in my city in Ontario and I am having a hard time motivating myself to get outside. Although walks in the more beautiful districts of my city are quite tempting. Our parks here are pretty flat and they put some grass over a water resevoir, slap on a couple of trees and some grass and call it a "park". Not quite the same....

Now that creates a really amusing mental picture!

I am normally a very outdoorsy person. Love hiking and camping and tromping through the woods studying native wild plants and mushrooms. And if I'm camping when it's cold, I just bundle up and have a ball anyway.

But when I'm home and it's cold, I hibernate. I always plan to do things differently "next year." Maybe I actually will next year!

Re: How did ya do last month

Hi everyone -- haven't been here in awhile so thought I'd come back and post. Sunny you are doing wonderful being outdoors in your garden - I'm hoping to be able to get mine planted in the next couple weeks.

The new 6WEC challenge starts tomorrow -- all you have to do is pledge a number of days a week you will do some form of exercise and post each day when you've accomplished it. It's a great challenge and is a great way to keep you accountable.

I'm starting to add new exercises starting Monday and on the 1st of the month I'll join those challenges officially again. I need to get back to doing some of the basic challenges I was doing to begin with - but first I need to mow the lawn, so that's what I'm off to do!

                Have a great Atkins day!!

Re: How did ya do last month

I wouldn't exercise without the challenges. I'd just not "feel" like doing them and I wouldn't. But once I commit to the challenges, I do them.

I'm so grateful that Jimmie puts in the time to moderate them.

And same to you, too, Carole, on the water.
