  • So how was March, WOE wise I mean

So, how did you do during Mar. ?
    Any weight loss, clothes-size loss?
Did you learn anything about this plan or your plan?
Did you set a goal and make it?
Did you try a new recipe?
    Any ah-ha moments!!!!!

    Again, Ill start.
I lost a total of 8 pounds, which is really awesome for me and because we don't notice those daily bits or weight loss, its cool to see the total. I'm still the same dress size.
I learned all about coconut oil and how to get it past my lips.
I didn't set a goal, but joined StallbustersUnited and I think thats what really helped. I committed to the 4 legs of the stool, diet - water - exercise - and supplements.

Re: So how was March, WOE wise I mean

Only a couple of pounds lost in March, but did learn that I need to watch the Splenda, and time my exercise for right before dinner, to keep that runaway appetite down. It was totally out of control and is why my weight loss was so pitiful in March. Those two changes are making a profound difference. Now that I figured out what was causing it, I'm hoping that I can lose at least 4 pounds in April.

Also, I've gotten creative enough with my cooking that I am never tempted to cheat with illegal goodies. And DH is loving what I cook, so that makes the whole WOE go a lot more smoothly.

I, too, recommitted to diet, water, exercise and supplements. I would sometimes run a little short on the water, but Carole's challenge is going to help a lot. And I would honestly skip the exercise a lot of days if I weren't bound to honor my challenge commitments.

So the board is making a huge difference for me.

Hey Sunny, is DH losing any weight eating what you do? I was going to ask you that before but forgot.

      1. After re-induction I lost 5 pounds (yea)
      2. I'm wearing a smaller size jeans (still Size E [elastic] but hey, they are smaller)
      3. I learned that re-reading the DANDR book teaches you something new everytime.
I'm trying to learn patience with people.....(for about the 45th year of my life) I learned that coconut oil is slimy but it tastes good and gives me energy!
      4. My goal was to have a clean induction and I made it!! (yea)
      5. I tried a couple new recipes last month and made legal meatloaf tonight.
      6. My ah-ha moment is that I need this site to keep me on track and happy. I enjoy helping newbies, I'm getting better at answering questions and I want to continue this WOE.

I have added a couple supplements to my daily routine but with the prescriptions I take I have to be careful not to get anything that might interact or counteract.

I am thankful for the people I consider my friends here. Even days I don't feel up to par or happy I can come here, read a couple things and smile. It's a wonderful place to be. I honestly don't think I would have done as well without the ADBB - thank you to my buddies!!

Oh, something else I learned. I CANT DO desserts. I made some coffee ice cream and nothing would do until I ate the whooooooole thing.
          No more deserts for me.

Same for me. So I either cut the recipe way down or concoct something that works out to just a single serving.

I posted this on another thread, but I discovered that if you take one scoop of vanilla whey protein powder, and whip with cream (or cream and water to save a couple of carbs) and one packet of stevia, then fold in blueberries, you end up with a decadent tasting, cheesecake-pudding type result... for one!

Sunny, everytime I've ever tried to use Whey Protein powder I've gained weight - it's amazing you can use it and not gain....wish I was that lucky

Re: So how was March, WOE wise I mean

Carole, I am not losing. In fact, tonight I measured my waist and it is the same it has been for four weeks. This is in spite of all the exercise, which I have been doing faithfully.

I was so depressed.... I ate TWO Atkins candy bars.

I guess Sherri was right. I am not going to lose any appreciable weight until I get on thyroid meds.

I am wondering if it is worth it. But then I remember the health benefits. And I guess it's worth it for them because they have truly been astounding.

As for weight loss.... I am just going to not worry about it because stewing over it isn't helping.

I'm feeling better today. Sorry for the downer yesterday.

I did peek at the scale this morning and it's down... I think my official Monday weigh day will have good results.

                    Good to hear Sunny One!

March for me was ok... not great, but ok. I'm slipping ever so slowly back into my "comfort" zone, which is good.

Am beginning to wonder if flax is a problem food for me. I eat flax crackers often and seem to notice that I lose when I don't eat them. Anyone heard that flax can be a problem?

Sally, just ran across this thread again. Have you determined if flax seeds are a problem for you?

I don't have them regularly, but thought I would start using them more often since they make whey protein shakes a lot more filling.

No Sunny... not yet. I think I need to be scientific about it! Trouble is, am too busy at this time of year to even think about experimenting.

How about you? How're you doing these days?

Doing really well. Have settled into this WOE so comfortably that I don't even count carbs most days unless I have reason to think I might have gone over. It just feels normal to eat this way, and I seem to have a built-in carb counter now.

I never thought I'd get to that point!
