  • I'm Barb, I'm 50+, and I'm a carboholic

It's a sad story. I have been skinny as a rail most of my life. In fact it wasn't until my 30s that I actually weighed enough to fit cloths nicely and people stopped saying I was too skinney. Then in my 40s I got a little bike tire around my middle. Now I seem to have motorcycle tires around my middle. Sadly I look like my mother.
I'll not have this! I'm working my way back to my 40 year old weight of 145. I think that's ok for a 5'8" gal. Who knows ... maybe I'll want to go down further when I get there.
My name is Barb ... and I'm a carboholic

Yes, I am a MAN, A Sugar adict, type II diebetic.

Over fifty is not for cowards.

But Atkin's works great for type II. and I can see this group like to have fun. So count me in.

              Re: I'm Barb, I'm 50+, and I'm a carboholic

Man does your story sound familiar. I'm a dude and I'm a carboholic. And a chocoholic.

I spent ten years in the army, graduated Honor Grad from basic training, Arctic Survival School, Observation Helicopter Maintenance School, and went to Air Assault School (missed honor grad there by . . .that much LOL) and used to run 10 k runs for fun, and ran the mile and two mile in high school track. I was a lean mean pair of jeans.

Then when I went to college in my thirties (late bloomer) the weight started sneaking on and by the time the forties ran around and I found myself sitting in a classroom teaching middle school english, things got out of control.

But, like me, you've started a new marathon. ..and it's the right one. Stay good, stay focused, stay carb free!
