  • Atkins Bars

    I am trying to do induction. I have high blood sugar, and am on an oral tablet. I know this diet will help my dibetes. My question to anyone out there, Are we allowed to eat the Atkins advantage bars while on induction. I have found one that has only 2 net grams of carbs, and it would be great for breakfast with a cup of coffee. Can anyone help me?

    The best way to do induction is CLEAN .. meaning no frankenfoods (ala bars, shakes, or any other processed food, low-carb or otherwise).

    Induction allows your body to detox from processed junk foods and to rid yourself of cravings. Alot of these frankenfoods can and will deter and stall your weight loss.

    Your best bet would be whole foods: meats, allowed veggies in the right amounts, eggs, cheese (limited), cream (limited).

    There is no shortcut to success. Yes, this woe takes effort and preparation, but its sooooooooooo worth it.

      I, too, think you would do better to stay away from the bars during Induction. This 2-week time period is also a period of adjusting and allowing yourself to break old eating habits, so eating the bars is playing into old eating patterns. After Induction, it is up to you whether you include the bars. Some people can handle them without stalling and others can't.

        Thanks so much for both your answers. I have lost seven pounds on induction! It's not easy, but I know it will be worth it.

          welcome to ADBB :wave yep you want to get in the habit ofr fixing some reaL food for meals you can make ahead several of the egg recipes like the individual omletts you bake in muffin tins and stuff.


          We have a diabetic support forum too and many of the long term folk have gotten off all oral meds while doing their Atkins so please monitor your blood sugar closely anddiscuss the dropping numbers with your doctor as we wouldn't want you to go into insulin shock from the healthier lower sugar eatting you are doing on Atkins. happy low carbing.

            Late response, but,

            If you had one, I don't know that you would be that excited about them. I'd be much haapier with a tuna sandwich for breakfast. Bread=lettuce leaves
