I've got the Pilates Performer machine. Not too sure about how much inches you lose just by doin that by itself, but it does tone you up. :nod

It's great.

Pilates is seriously a great program if you want to focus on your abs. The excersises start relatively low impact, but the results can be drastic. I took classes at my local YMCA where the majority of my classmates were previously unathletic, but after a few weeks our work out showed some serious improvement. So yes, go for pilates!!!

I use the pilates for dummies video. I have used it from the very beginning when I weighed 260lbs. It is a good tape because you can "grow" with it. She tells you how you can make the exercises easier if you are not quite ready yet, and she tells you how to make them harder if you have progressed on.

I really reccomend it, and if you keep with it and dedicate yourself to doing it 4-5 times a week, you will see results (and feel them)

I got mine from amazon.com
and yes it comes in dvd format also.

the dvd is about 40 minutes long, but the exercise part is only about 30 minutes. good luck, I am sure you will like.

one of the biggest myth in working out is spot training. you can work on your abs and do 100+ sit ups everyday... but you're really just working out the muscle underneath the fat. IMO the best way is to maybe combine it with some cardio. atleast 30 mins of cardio everyday... works wonders :geek

i <3 pilates... i would get the dvd/tape VS the book. because atleast with the video you can get a better idea how your body is supposed to be positioned etc...
