    I'm new at Atkins ... actually, i'm new at dieting all togeter! My dad does atkins (and very well too) and I though it might be easier if I do it with him for the both of us.

    I need help though. I'm not loosing as fast as I would want to ... actually I gain, loose, gain and loose again ... depending on the time of day! I need help and I need someone to explain why it does that.

    I actally just need support cause I feel bad today. My whole family went to Mc.D's. Guess the ending! I only at the burger patty, I swear ... and about 15 french fries ... I would like to know how bad that would affect me and should I do the induction for a little longer.

    Anyways, any help is wanted ... I really think I can make this work!

    I think if any of us lost as fast as we wanted too we'd all be at goal tomorrow!

    1) You shouldnt be weighing yourself more than once a week - your weight will fluctuate depending on the time of day, pick a day and a time on that day and only weigh in on that day!

    2) post a menu? if people can see a menu they might be able to spot something your doing wrong - that you dont even know about!

    3) are you drinking your water?

    4) are you exercising?

    About the fries - its not great, but if you start drinking more water to flush them out it will help! you dont need to start over, but if you get to the end of induction and you want to stay on it for longer, thats your choice!

      I don't know if we are allowed to post here.. But I wanted to encourage you.. That is wonderful that your dad is doing Atkins and you are too. Do not make yourself feel horrible about those french fries.. Just get yourself back on track. Keep working at it.. Next time you are around French Fries..and you feel the urge.. Think about us here..and knowing that you will have to admit that you ate them.. That is what helped me in the beginning.. I just went by McDonalds Tuesday and the fries didn't bother me at all...

        Ok well, here's hoping!

        Today I hade a piece of Kingsley cheese and a protein shake (1 carb) with i tbsp of creem (1 carb) [breakfast]

        Then I had 3 stalks of celery, one more piece of cheese, salad with 3 pieces of Canadian Bacon, one slice of ham (total 2 carbs bacon+ham) with a sour creem and salsa dressing (3 carbs)

        Then I came home, had two sweets (no sugar added sweets ... I checked the lable too XD total of both = 1.1 carbs)

        Then I had supper (Chicken cordon Bleu but with one carb)

        Then I had cucumbers and another sweet (0.8 carbs ... )

        So that total must be like ... 16 carbs right?

        I dunno, maybe I didn't count something ... I feel like i'm eating SO much ... My dad says it's normal ... my dad ate that much even BEFORE he started

        Anyways, if any one wants to take the time to analise it ... go ahead XD

        If not just try and answer this : how come I am more tired now than I usually am if this diet gives you energy?

        And how come i'm NEVER hungry?

        And how come i'm dizzie all the time for no reason?

        Could my body be trying to tell me something?

        Got a doctor's a pointement thuesday ... but my doctor is against Atkins so she won't be nice about my symptomes ... any help??

          Well I'm all about doing Atkins properly, so you may not like my reply!

          Cut the shakes out, cut the sweets out, cordon bleu - what are the ingredients? ill pretty much guess theres something in there thats not on the acceptable foods list, same with the salsa dressing, its probably got sugar in, unless you make your own.

          It sounds to me like your doing a low carb diet, not the Atkins diet, you ONLY eat off the acceptable foods list.

          Your carbs come from your veggies, eggs, cheese... not from sweets and shakes.

          So if you wanna boost your loss... skip all those things, and you should see a change on your scales.

          Your never hungry because your body is in ketosis - fat burning mode, this happens to us all.

          Dizzy? dont know - im always dizzy but i suffer from a low blood pressure.

          body telling you something? probably!!! stop feeding it with all the frankenfoods!! eat fresh food instead!

            Well, I don't know about anyone else but it doesn't look like a whole lot of calories there.

            Just a stab in the dark but you may be tired and light-headed because you're not eating enough food, period. How about some eggs? And some more meat? And more substantial vegetables? A little celery and cucumber is definitely NOT enough in veggies.

            We just had a Veggie Challenge recently that opened up a lot of our own eyes. Read through the thread; you'll learn a lot from our own experiences as we figured it out and really honed in on what Atkins said we should eat for vegetables. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43113 I was eating 12-15 NET carbs in vegetables alone; that didn't include any carbs from other food sources. At 16 carbs from all your food, you're not taking in enough of them at all.

            Also, if you haven't yet, read the book. You'll fnd a ton of answers in that. What you can't find, hey, there are a lot of people here who may know...

              Your more tired because you ate those fries last week..you have to keep yourself legal to feel the benefits... If you are dizzy you probably need to eat more.. A couple of people on here up there carbs some and that helped them feel better

                another thing that can cause diziness is dehydration! if your not drinking enough water you will start getting very dizzy and light headed...try drinking a full glass or bottle of water when you start to get dizzy and see if that makes it go away, most of the time, for me anyway, i find that it will go away pretty quickly as soon as i get some more water in my body!

                  Ditto the others mandalee. Cut out the frankenfoods. If you are on induction, unlike other parts of this WOE, induction should be followed as closely as possible. That means eating only the foods on the acceptable list. If you look in DANDR 2002, you will find a list of foods or you can find it on the induction sticky on this board.

                  I, too, used to eat some SF sweets, but they caused a big stall in my weightloss. I also found that the more I ate them, the more I wanted. I completely cut them out and refocused on the proper foods and the weight started coming off again.

                  You can do this, you are doing this and it will work! Look again at your menu choices for the day and make sure they are all as fresh as possible. Let us know how it goes! We are behind you!
