Re: What made you do it?

i did it because in a few months i'm 1. in my friend's wedding (and don't want to be the chubby bridesmaid - it's so mean that they make you go up a size in those stupid dresses), 2. graduating from law school, 3. moving, and 4. turning 25 (which is apparently when the first of the weight loss hurdles start to stack up). i thought it'd be nice to move to a different city and job hunt looking my best. also, there's just no time like the present.

Re: What made you do it?

I'm doing it for health reasons. Sure, I'd love to be slim and trim again, but even if I won't manage to be that, I'd be glad to get rid of a few problems with allergies and my immune sytsem in general. Last year I suffered from allergic asthma really badly and I decided I don't want to feel that bad again. I will never be beautiful, but I can and will be healthy and I will enjoy more activities with my SO (who is slim and actually underweight).

Eh technically im not a teen anymore, but oh well!
I played soccer for 10 years and softball for 4. I -lived- to play soccer
until injuries made me stop. I found out I have a genetic problem, where my cartilage in my joints is dissolving. I stopped playing, and stopped being active alltogether pretty much. Ironically the only way to help is to re-build up the muscles around my joints to help hold them in place, and of course the less weight my body has to carry around the less stress on my joints. So this is mostly for my health. I'll never be able to be fully where I used to be, but I can get close. It also wouldn't hurt to be comfortable with myself again

Re: What made you do it?

When I finished my B.A. in June 05 I had to get clothes for graduation and I was shocked to find that I had to get size 14 and 16 pants. Then later, when I saw the graduation pictures, it was even more apparent that I had gained a lot of weight. It was not really a health thing because I was healthy anyway but I did not feel my best. Plus I ran a BMI calculator and realized that yes, I was officially overweight. The truth hurts; but it got me motivated.

i exercised crap load amount [running 12 miles a day]
got in to shape for field hockey season, went down to 95 lbs-

Re: What made you do it?

I am going through a divorce and while my health has never been an issue, I wanted the chance to start over, reinvent myself and come out at "fightin' weight"! In order to drop the weight AND maintain it I was going to have to change my way of eating. An tho it was not really bad before, this is even better! I am coming out the other side "better than EVER".

if i was to be honost i would have to say it is so i look better on the outside i just always feel uncomfortable in public and cautious of what i look like, i know if i look better on the outside i'd feel better on the inside, some may think its lame but its just how i feel

I think we all want to look good.. as for me its totally for vanity... I just want to get rid of this damn bra roll on my back! I want to wear something form fitted without having to wonder if I will be gawked at or tug at my shirt all day long..

I am tired, tired of feeling "disabled" because of my weight. I think if I can take charge of this...I can conquer anything..

This by far is the toughest fight (fat)...

I want to look like the person I see myself being inside my own mind. I want to feel attractive to men and everyone else I may meet anywhere. I'm 23, but I feel that biological clock ticking thing, which is crazy, but that's just how i'm feeling right now. Being on this diet lets me feel in control of at least one thing in life, that being I say what goes in and out of my body. I just want to settle down and get married, and I don't see how anyone would want me weighing 250 lbs, or even being a size 14 at 198. I doubt I will ever be happy with myself. Body image is a lifelong issue for me and always will be.
