  • Has NE1 had problems with Constipation?

I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with constipation? Not to be gross but i haven't gone in like 4 days and i had lost 3 lbs but iv'e gained them back. Yet I'm doing the diet the way I'm supposed to. If anybody has any suggestions on what i can do for it please get back to me. The weight gain has really discouraged me, but i know why i gained it. But still it is very very discouraging and it sucks. Thanks to whoever can help me. :help

I take flax in a pill form on a daily basis. My body works fine lol. Try some...I use the ones you put in the fridge.

Are you drinking all your water = 64 ounces plus 8 for every 25 pounds you want to lose?
        Eating all your veggies?
Maybe you could add some ground flax to your recipes or try one of the many recipes for bread or crackers etc and eat a tablespoon's worth of that a day?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I agree about the flax. I add it to everything (mock danishes, lettuce, shoot I'd put it in jello if jello was allowed). For those days with problem, psyllium husks usually does the trick. I take mine in the form of Sugar Free Metamucil, but there are pure products as well.

I don't get it - the nutritional panel on 2 of my psyllium husks packets are different

One says for 100g flax, there is 3.3g net carbs

The other says total carbs equals fibre, that means net carbs zero

Both just have "psyllium husks" in the ingredients but I'm worried if I add it to every think I make like Kent is doing, would I be putting in hidden carbs?

They are pure fiber carbs, and so you aren't supposed to count them. I have to take psyllium husks everyday to keep from getting bound up, and from having stomach pain. As for putting it in everything, I think Kent was talking about ground flax seed. I don't know that you can cook with psyllium husk. I get mine in capsule form from Walmart.

Flax and psyllium husks are two different things. Ground flax seed or flax meal is what I add to a lot of different things, but there is a carb impact of about 1g per TBS (not sure about per 100 grams). During induction, you are allowed 1 TBS per day for constipation, but if it continues, you can add another TBS. As you go through OWL and the seed rung, you can more back into your diet. If you haven't eaten flax before take it easy with the stuff in other words. You may start something that you didn't necessarily want (cramps).
