Okay everyone, I cant figure this out on my own so I need some help. I am VERY FOND of cabbage soup... LOVE IT.. and I have been craving it for a while now. I want to know if this is acceptable.. In my recipe I of course use cabbage, green beans, celary, and a little ounion and tomatoes. The broth is V-8 juice and chicken broth which makes it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. Can I have this?

Chicken broth is a yes
In place of V8, can you use crushed tomatoes seasoned with something to add some extra flavor??
I can't see why you should completely avoid it if you can make an easy substitution. Maybe tomato and tabasco or something. I don't think I have ever made cabbage soup with V8 and I am amost 100% certain I have never drank it, so I am not sure of the exact flavor you are getting out of it.F/30

V-8 has 7g Carbs -1g dietary fiber per 5.5 oz. The number 1 ingredient is tomato juice, followed by juice of carrots, celery, beets, parsley, lettuce, watercress, & spinach. (8 veggies) So maybe you could add celery, parsley, lettuce, watercress & spinach to your crushed tomatos and get most of the flavor. Carrots and beets are way up the carb ladder.
