  • Ok I figured out what was wrong

    I was wondering why I wasn't losing alot of weight...the rotisserie chickens I was buying from the store had sugar in it. The seasoning they were using in it had alot of sugar. Also I DID NOT know Raw green cabbage had sugar in it, with a total of 4 carbs and it is on the induction list. I have been enjoying steamed cabbage for dinner the past couple of nights. I am in ketosis, but for some reason I was craving ice cream today, but I think it is because I took my kids to Chik-Fila and got them some ice cream and they have my favorite lol.

    I did not drink alot of water today cause I have a cold. I drank as much as I could while I have been awake. I have drank about 75 ounces.

    Sugar is evil. Pre cooked foods are evil. I am sorry you had to find out the hard way.

    All our vegis have carbs this is where we should be getting most or our 20 allowable a day.

        Yeah I did the same kind of things about the third week into Atkins. I didn't lose any weight that week, even though I thought I was doing really well, and it was so frustrating. Luckily I found this site, read up on a bunch of things, and found out I was doing quite a few things that I shouldn't be doing. I immediately started losing again (pretty slowly, but consistently, which is still better then not losing!).

        Hope your cold goes away soon.

          Joy, it's the sugar in the chicken you have to worry about, not the raw green cabbage. I just had a look in Fitday, sure it shows 4.82g carbs for 1 cup, but half of that is fibre (which you don't count in your TOTAL carbs), so that which leaves you with 2.77g NET CARBS.

          You need to mix and match your veggies - I mean if you eat 3 cups cabbage a day, you're bound to get a higher carb count than let's say 3 cups of spinach a day. Atkins teaches you to eat a variety of foods, not one particular food coz it's your favourite.

            lol I dont eat 3 bups of cabbage a day, I usually eat one and have a salad and another veggie. Like today I had 1 cup of salad greens, 1 cup of cabbage and about one half cup of squash.
