The teams that you're referring to were set up in January as a six month challenge. You certainly can join, heck you could have joined ours as we lost many members. The deal is, the challenge ends June 11th. Maybe you want to set up a new challenge? June til Christmas or something?

This is gonna sound bad, but I don't have time to set one up, but I want to participate. I actually wouldn't even know how to set one up.

Ok I am thinking of AphexPhode, cranberry, CherTLC4u and MontanaRebel.....I think that would work for a four person team!!! Sound ok?

So if anyone wants to chime in on what we have to do then that would be cool...I imagine we have to come up with a name for the team so get your brains working. lol Johnny :guns

I thought it ends on JULY 11th! :yikes

I agree with Isabeau - why not start a challenge thread here and ask interested people to sign up for it.
I tried to find the 'starting' thread that Pammie started for the current New Year challenge but it seems to have been culled in the last board cleanup :sadblinky
As far as I remember someone suggested a friendly competition to help us all stay on track and get all the new 'resolution' new year's expected newbies involved. Pammie agreed to keep track of signups and sort us into mixed 'teams' of newbies and oldtimers and when it started we all posted our stats to get start weights and measurements.

The 'mission statement' of the New Year's challenge was something like this
"Your job is to encourage the newbie, support him or her, and help in anyway you can."
The team who has lost the most weight and inches (all members not just newbies) and has the most "newbies" still on Atkins and still active after 6 months are the winners.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Aphexphode came up with a team name of "Fit, Not Fat" and thought it quite appropriate!!

Maybe you want to set up a new challenge? June til Christmas or something?
I was thinking of starting the team on June 23rd until Dec 23rd and would be a great gift to all of us for Christmas...

So how many in the team? Who is going to be in it? Need to get some details worked out before the starting date. Johnny :guns

I've decided to not join any teams as I am not comitted

Wish all you guys well with the teams!!! Have fun!!! Will check back from time to time to see how the teams are doing!!

Going to back off from posting so much and just read and maybe learn something....

                      Take care, Johnny

P.S. AphexPhode it is all yours. lol

This has not anything to do with anybody and it was my decision...

If you guys are setting a team up, I would like to join :nod

I'm currently in the challenges that go up till September in the "challenge" forum, but I could really use a long term commitment too...., as I still have a LONG way to go!

Count me in, and you better believe that on christmas day I will be half the person I was when I started! (well okay, more like a third.. but a half was more colloquial... anyway.. count me in lol)

Did Atkins back in 2005 and went from 262 to 182!
                        Starting Nov 4th 2009 again at 195
                        First mini-goal: 187 by thanksgiving
Second mini-goal: 181 by Xmas trip to see in-laws in LA, size 14's!

OK, Mary Chan and Cranberry, I'll say what I said before. I'd like to be part of a team. I don't want to be in charge. I'm too busy to take on a responsibility like that. For now I'm gonna look into the exercise challenges, unless someone wants to step up to the plate and start a new team.
