  • What will you do when you reach goal?

Its been a long time since I've seen a thread like this, and it will be interesting to see how people's dreams have changed:

My dream used to be a romantic vacation with my hubby that involved a glamourous hotel and a private jacuzzi. I still have that dream, but I also want to add that I'm going to get two horses, one for myself, and one for my son. We're gonna spend that quality time together. And it will be a normal sized horse...not a Clydesdale like I would need now! LOL

I think I'd like to go camping. Ever since I've gained weight, I've had no desire to camp because you get so hot and sweaty, and who wants to hike when your thighs rub together and chaff? When I was thin I loved camping, and hiking. If we got hot and sweaty, we take our clothes of and jump in the lake.

    or

Costa Rica would be fun. Last time I went there, we kayaked, went horseback riding thru the jungle, took canapy tours (aka swiging thru the jungle on a cable),

    or

Backpacking across Europe and staying in hostile's would be fun too! I can't decide. Whatever it is, we'll be walking and exercising and enjoying things that I can't enjoy as a fat person.

Oh how wonderful! It all sounds like fun to me. My hubby DOESN'T travel, or camp...or anything that might involve bugs. If I'm going to do it, its gonna be me and the kid.

I'm looking forward to buying clothes in regular stores and not paying extra dollars for the xl. I had a good time this school year getting smaller. Some of my students who had me 1 or two years ago didn't recognize me. I don't want to stop here. I want to see what I will look like when the weight loss is complete.

Be more active and do the things I used to love doing.

First go horseback riding (I can do this before goal but not yet. I gave my sister a coupon for her birthday that I will treat her to a ride).

Be able to wear summer clothes and not even think twice about it.

Concentrate on having fun (and not worrying about what I'm going to wear, how I'm going to look, if my fat is going to jiggle, etc, etc)

Stop being sooo hot all the time (and be the whiny little girl who is cold for once) : )

Be healthier and not cringe at the doctor's scale.

These are some of the activites that I want to do again that I can't right now:
            Go Skydiving again
            Go horseback riding again
            Go skiing/snowboarding again
            Go water skiing again
Fly without worrying about the arm rests and touching my seat mate

There are lots of things I want to do again that I haven't been able to now that I think about it! I'm not going to be sad about what I've been missing out on lately, but look forward to what I will be able to do again!!!!!!!

            :joy

Hmmm, since I figured I'd BE at goal by now and haven't made it....LOL!!

I have promised myself that I will swing on a trapeze at the local furniture store once I get to ONDERLAND and stay there (so probably after I get to 190). And yes, I will post pictures of me screaming as I swing across! LOL!!! Check it out here http://www.jordans.com/tours/store_t...tourid=reading you want to enter the store, click on bridge and then trapeze to see it.

I will be able to buy clothes in regular sizes which will be cool! I'm close, but still can't get into 12 or 14 and that would be "normal", goal will be size 8!

Go skiing. It was such fun but I have to shrink enough to wear my ski pants again.

I am going to discover my new fashion sense. Next summer I am going on a cruise to Europe, so I want to be able to look fabulous in a bathing suit, I want to be able to walk without my thighs rubbing together, I can't remember if I've ever had that before.

When I reach goal I will be much more active. I love horses, and I would like to get a part time job working with them, even as a stable "boy". Then I could go horseback riding for free!

Dance, dance, dance. I'm a dancer but have become more self conscious. When I reach goal I am going to finally sign up for Flamenco dance classes, maybe even belly dancing lessons. Great excercises and fun too!

There is so many I can't even think of all of them.

When I reach goal I want to go shopping and buy normal sized clothes that look great on the hanger and on ME! I want to buy pretty sandles that don't look ridiculous with my chubby toes. I want to be able to take my son ice skating (he should be old enough by then). I too want to be able to walk without my thighs rubbing together. I want to feel the self-confidence that comes along with feeling good about yourself. Boy, this could go on and on....... :yes

                    Hmmm what won't I do!

First thing is get married! The date is pretty much set at April 24th in walt disney world. I am hoping against hope that by staying on extended induction I can lose a significant amount by that time so I can feel good about myself.

After that, whenever I get the chance to travel, I am going to take it! There are so many activities that I've always wanted to try, like scuba diving, surfing, more hiking, kayaking, maybe mountain biking, just anything and everything, I want to try everything!

Roller coaster rides! I won't need to be at goal, but maybe half way there. And walking around amusement parks without my feet getting tired right away.

Right now it's summer and it's california, it is hot! I don't really have any clothing that keeps me cool, all my clothes are bulky to hide my weight! I just want to be able to wear clothes that keep me cool in the summer!!

Maybe rent a convertible and drive along the Pacific coast highway.. I hate driving in convertibles now, because it draws attention to myself.. something I dread at this weight!

Once I'm closer to goal weight, I want to seriously weight lift (maybe with a personal trainer) and get a little buff (not like body builder, but just a little sculpting on my arms, etc)... and take up martial arts again! I was taking classes for a few months when I was at my skinniest, but quit because I couldn't afford it, which I really really regret. It gave me so much confidence and was fun!

I just want to be more active and do the things that being at this weight is stopping me from doing! I have so many goals and plans that my weight is keeping me from. I can't wait until I reach goal and don't have to worry about the millions of things that most people take for granted!

                    First mini-goal: 187 by thanksgiving
Second mini-goal: 181 by Xmas trip to see in-laws in LA, size 14's!

I will live life to the fullest....Although I know it isn't always true I feel being overweight keeps me from being the real me.
I'm outgoing...wild...love to dance and party at the hottest spots....shop till I drop..flirt with confidence and abandon...ride amusement park rides....begin auditioning again....think of having children....

I do all these things now but always with a bit of caution especially the amusement park thing.

We are planning a winter cruise to the Caribbean, and Panama Canal. I will be looking forward to new slim clothing, especially a 2 piece bathing suit, that is a bit more daring (though it will not be a bikini)!!! I'll make sure I bring some new workout clothing too, not my big sweats :yes

I will probably pick a new goal to shoot for achieving. It will probably be exercise based rather than weight based.

You guys have such fun ideas, so I want to do all that!

I want to wear a strapless sundress with a waist and be able to tuck my shirt in if I want.....Cute clothes is probably the main thing. Dancing is probably the second. Feeling better about "being with" my husband would be another.
