  • I'm new....I'd like to be part of the Century Club.

    Hi,

I'm Cass. 20 years old girl from Florida, living near Miami. More than a year ago I started Atkins. I hanged on for 3 months, then just started to cheat and cheat, until I finally gave up and went out of control :nono . When I started Atkins I was 225 pounds. I went down to 193 pounds in 3-4 months. Then when I quit, I gained back almost all the weight I started with. Now I'm 220. :anger I feel like an idiot and so sorry for myself. How could I have let this go. This is the only diet that works for me, all the other ones I tried... :nono Just didn't work.

So now I'm back and want to do this thing for life, can u believe it? Before I was so scared to do ATkins for life, but now, I believe/have faith, and think if i want to be thin forever, I better stick to this for life. Also, for life would be good for my health, since I eat sweets and carbs so much and over-weight that I am at great risk for diabetes. I think, even maybe, for life would be great for me. (Just one question though, becus in the long term I want to get married and have children, and wondering if u can do Atkins while pregnant :sarcasm )

So yes, I'm back, and I'm starting again for the first time beginning tomorrow. Grocery shopping for the foods will be today or tomorrow morning very early. I hope u all wish me luck and will always be there if i need help :hug

Welcome welcome welcome!! Glad you found your way back to Atkins. Maybe you had to quit once in order for you to gain the strength to try it again for keeps!

If you haven't already, buy the Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002- book and read it through!! That will help you understand what you need to do now, and what you will be doing in the future as you slowly add more carbs back into your way of eating, and what you can do while you're pregnant, etc. Basically, buy the book :nod

Welcome to the century club, we're sure you'll be losing weight in no time :wave

        Hi Cass :wave
Welcome to our CC family :hug
As Lauren said - if you do become pregnant while doing Atkins you need to move to the maintenance phase to make sure your baby gets the right nutrition.
Btw several of our members have unexpectedly conceived while on this WOE, so watch out :yikes
Must be that their bodies realise this is a healthy way to eat :yes
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

            Hey Cass, welcome.

You can do this. If you find yourself struggling, try to maintain for a while, it's not losing but it's better than gaining. Then when motivation returns kick it back up a notch. Then at least you don't have to relose weight you lost once already.

Or just go full tilt the whole time, either way works.

But one thing is certain, you'll get all the support you need, right here.
            Jim

                  Hi Cassandra :wave

Welcome to CC and ha. I think the best thing about ha is that when you do fall off the wagon and cheat you are more likely to get back on and try again because of all the great support you get here.

You might want to check out Fitday.com as a place to record your food and keep track of exactly how many carbs you are eating. It can be surprising how quickly 2 or 4 carb items add up!

Good luck and keep coming back we are all in this together.
