  • Just a quick check-in

My computer is still broken, but I am at my son's house, so I just wanted to do a quick check-in. I hope everyone is doing OK and losing tons of weight. I am still holding on and maintaining, but not losing. Maybe someday I will get my motivation back. Here's hoping! I had a new grandson born on June 1...Ryan Conner, 8 lbs 13 oz, 21 inches. He's our first grandson after 3 grandaughters and he's a keeper! I don't know if any of you remember my little black kitty that I had for so long as my avatar picture, but I lost him. He was my constant companion and best friend for 12 years and I am devastated without him. He had cancer and once he was diagnosed, he only lived 3 weeks. My house and my heart are so empty without him. I have cried buckets of tears for him. My DH says he hopes I cry as much for him when he goes as I have for that cat. Maybe. I hope to be back to talk to all of you on a regular basis soon. Until then, stay happy and motivated. See you later.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your kitty. Pets can be such an integral part of our lives and hearts. I don't know if you know of the site www.petloss.com , but when I lost my athena last year (she was the best little ferret ever), that site helped me get through it a lot. I cried more for my ferret then I did for a few people in my life that past away. (She was my daily companion for 8 years of my life, it can be devastating to lose a pet). Don't let anyone tell you that it is silly to cry or be upset about your loss! :hug

Congratulations on the birth of your grandson! I'm sure as the first grandson he will be spoiled rotten!

    Take care!

Sorry to hear about your loss. I agree with the other members, that losing pets can be devastating, just as or more than even our human companions/family, etc.

Hope to see you around here more though.

          Take care
