  • Ok, very depressed...I am not losing

I am not losing. I actually gained a couple of pounds back. Maybe Atkins isnt for me. I cut out diet sodas, lc ice cream, salt and I am drinking at least a gallon of water a day/taking vitamins/eating properly/exercising and still nothing. This am I woke up at 530am and weighed 309....went back to bed and woke up at 930am and weighed 312. So my weight has gone up from my lowest. Why is this happening? I havent had any illegal/frankenfoods for almost 2 weeks now. help! I do not know what to do.

?? you gained 3 pounds sleeping?? :confused

I suggest posting a copy of your daily menu and letting people analyze it. Also your weight can fluctuate literally 5lbs a day. If you just started exercising it can cause a temporary weight gain. There's also TOM which I hear can cause weight gain.

Also STOP WEIGHING MORE THAN ONCE A DAY :whip
You're going to drive yourself NUTS! :burn

Sometimes people stall...that is a normal part of the process.

I agree, post your menu for the week. Maybe some folks that have had troubles and solved their stalls will spot something that you've missed?

There are so many reasons for the stalls. Not enough water, slow moving bowels, too much cheese or splenda, changing your exercise program (building muscles will slow you down but eventually help you lose faster), and sometimes not enough food (shocking isn't that one?).

perhaps you have metobolic resistance and need the supplements the Dr. A suggests.

L carntine and the Q-10....might help.

THere is an article on this on the ATKINS.com site.
might want to check it out!

        GOOD LUCK

Another thing is are you balancing your 3 main components of food? Fat 65%, carbs 5%, protein 30%? Fitday.com is free and keeps you right on track. Also, have you found out how many calories you should be eating a day? Not eating enough will make you hold on to your weight. Here is a link for that:

Use our BMR Calculator to help calculate your BMR quickly and simply. This and many more tools at your fingertips on weightlossforgood.co.uk.

I went through the same thing in the beginning, and found I had to up my fats with olive oil, olives, even a little more butter. And I found out I needed to eat around 2500 calories, and I had been trying to stay around 1100! Don't give up, there are so many things you can try to fine tune it all!

Hi, I tried to look at your link, but it keeps taking me to my sign in page??? I hate trying to figure out how to work this dang computer sometimes.
If you want, you could pm me your menu, and I'll look at it. I'm not perfect though, so I don't know how much I can help.

Maybe your scale is not accurate ensive
is it digital? battery operated? ensive

mine started acting up.. giving me different weights as you describe but mine were quite a bit lower after a few more hours of sleep.... :nod
I was thrilled... but I knew later that it could not be right because the weights began to be different each time I weighed.... a minute later... two minutes later.... :no

I just wanted to say, hang in there. My scale does that to me too. How are your other symptoms? Are you feeling tired, or do you have more energy? I know that sometimes it feels like you have such a long journey, and it is hard to stick with it. I have been messing around with the same 5 lbs since January, and it is driving me crazy. But on the other hand, I have not gained it all back, I have more energy, and I know I am eating better and that I am a healthier person. Here are some hugs. :hug :hug :hug

I was taking alot of supplements and quit taking quite a few of them and now only take (1) Atkins Basic 3 vitamin 2x day, (1) calcium pill 2 x day and two 500 gm L-carnitine pills 2x day. When I quit taking all the rest of the supplements my weight loss went from 1# per week to 2# per week. You may want to experiment with the supplements you are taking.
