  • BMR PLease Help!

Hi, I calculated my BMR as suggested and read the post that I was directed to, so should I eat 2164.4526916363634 calories per day? That seems like alot. Do you all have any suggestions as to how I can eat this much? It makes ALOT of sense and in the beginning I think I was eating this much and I am prolly starving my body lol. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Please take this knowing it comes from a non-expert, but....When you think about it, you were probably eating way more than that when you weren't counting, so it probably is the amount you need for now.

You can up calories by adding olive oil or butter to eggs, meats, vegetables

You can make sure to eat the whole egg, not just whites, if you do

Some meats might be high calorie-wise, but still high in protein and no carbs

I add blue cheese dressing to things like steak for a topping..that is loaded with calories and no carbs (the one I use)

I do not think it is that hard to add calories in if you think of the added ones as flavorings

Hopefully someone else has somethign to add ensive

    Good luck

      Hi Lima,

I went to a few BMR sites today and had a good read, as well as trying to find out how many cals I should eat.

Are you aware that your BMR decreases as you shed the pounds? For example, my BMR (and therefore number of cals that I should eat) would be around 1,500 cals when I was 175lbs, but at 140lbs, it's around 1,400 and much less when I aim for 120lbs.

I don't know how tall you are, but esp if you're a tall person, then your BMR of 2,164 sounds about right for your build right now. Remember, to lose weight, we are also suggested to try and eat 500-1,000 cals less than recommended daily cal intake (that's what I learnt from reading all these BMR sites

      cheers.

Try to up your calorie intake, if you feel that you are getting enough--you probably aren't. This could cause your body to go into starvation mode--therefore, it will hold on to those unwanted pounds for fear of starving to death! Try to eat more, drink your water, and exercise more, and you should see results. You also need those extra food calories--adding food (the right foods) is adding energy. Your body needs fuel to run on, otherwise weight loss will go nowhere.

Try it and see what happens.

        Good Luck :hug
