  • Vacation here I come

I am leaving (on a jet plane) on Sunday and will be in L.A. on Monday. That begins a month long vacation (most of which I hope will be low carb). Chicago is next then Orlando then Greenville SC. Can someone out there give me some good LC places to eat in all cities as we will be eating out every day. I know I can make most menu choices better but I have heard that there are some resturant chains that are LC friendly. When I was there 4 yrs ago (1st time doing Atkins) I found it really difficult to get some places to make even the slightest changes. I want to come back slimmer.

I can't help you with specific restaurants, but I find that restaurants are very helpful and will make changes and substitutions (they may charge for it, but they'll do it). I think they've gotten used to people asking for special things.

Ruby Tuesday's and TGI Fridays had low carb menus at one time, but I'm not sure if they are still doing that.

Los Angeles is no stranger to low-carb! Especially last year, low-carb was a huge "craze.". it has subsided some, but there are still many places that do low-carb menus. At the very least, they won't look at you weird if you ask for menu recomendations good for low-carb.

TGI fridays is still doing the atkins menu, and the food on it is really good! Hope you have fun while you are here! Hope there won't be any more small earthquakes while you're here either!
