  • Starting the long journey...

Hello all at Century Club ~

This is my first post! Woo-hoo! I have never been on a message board before. I started Atkins (again!) this past week and discovered the board a few days ago. Been reading reading reading (and more reading!) ever since. Finally i decided to join today and get in on the fun. ;o) I have to say that you have all developed a wonderful community and i have enjoyed reading all of your posts, viewing your inspiring photos and seeing how supportive you all are with one another. It is a breath of fresh air to find others who are going through the same journey as me.

Just a quick bit about me - i will try to post a longer introduction in the "get to know me" section on your board later. I am 30 years old and have been seriously struggling with my weight for several years, beginning in my twenties. I am no stranger to the Atkins program. It is sincerely the only program that works for me. In the summer of 2003 i successfully eliminated 25 pounds on the diet... and then... became pregnant! Not that magically, of course my husband was involved. ;o)

It is now almost two years later... i have a beautiful and fabulous baby girl, Luna Jean. She just turned one year old on May 29th!

No more excuses for me... time to do something about this for good. I really hope that this forum will help me along the way. Again, it is so refreshing to find others who understand. My husband weighs about 135 pounds and my best friend is a size 4... all very supportive of my goals, however, how do i truly connect with them regarding these issues??? I need to find some good friends who 'get' what i am going through.

Thank you all for being here! I look forward to getting to know you all!

I was born in Jersey. :wave

Haven't lived their since I was in 1st grade.
Before I started Atkins I hadn't worked out in like 4 years save some occasional snowboarding/volleyball.

Now it's almost become an obsession... :boom

                            DragonflyMoon,

I just read about your aunt passing away and wanted to come in and say that I am praying for you and your family.

That is so sweet that both aunts and uncles stayed by each other through the years and now the remaining uncles can comfort each other. It sounds like you have a very close, sweet family.

Praying for comfort for you and yours in this time of loss.

Wow ~ Kat ~ you found my very first post! Holy crapola, that was over a year ago...

Thank you so much for your prayers for me & family; i really appreciate that very much! It is a sad time. We are planning a trip to Pennsylvania to see our family in October. Anyone from Pittsburgh around here? We are travelling from WA to Pittsburgh by train and having a horrible time finding rental cars from the Amtrak station... wouldn't you figure that stuff would be close by?

I've been meaning to post here again for sometime now... this really should be my hangout! I'm down about 50 pounds since last year ~ took a little "holiday break" and ended up gaining a bit of that weight back, and for the past month i have been working hard to getting that off. Almost there - three more pounds to 50 lost total!

Still have a long way to go though... i find this board to be very motivating & inspiring, and even though i haven't posted here in a long time, i do pop in everyday to check up on things. I'll try to post more often!

                              You are all wonderful!
