  • went for my 1 month post op.....

HEY just wanted to tell everyone i went for my 1 month post op and at my weigh in the doctors staff was shocked at how much i lost in one month.
IN one month i am down 28 lbs but added to pre op losses i am at 54~

THE appointment went well all is good~ I go back in 2 months and i am not on regular foods so my eating will be more atkins like now, but now i get full on normal portions. AND eating till im satisfied wont be much to much now.

So far i am fitting into smaller clothes that havent fit for a bit, very happy of course with this, my hubbys says i dont snore as loud. My blood pressure which went crazy up just before the surgery is now very normal for me at 124/76 ( pre op i sky rocketed for me at 185/95. SO i am already in one month seeing my health improve. I hope to get my cholestrol blood drawn by my regular doctor when i go see him in a few weeks!
THANKS everyone for careing! I feel great and im so happy being a looser
    again!

That is so wonderful! I am so glad to hear how well you are doing! Man those pounds just melted off didn't they! I am curious, roughly how much have you been eating each day after surgery? (calories or whatever). I have always wondered why people lose more on the surgery then they would if they just starved themselves for a month ensive . It confuses me! Anyway, congratulations on your success!!

:icondance Yeah Lisa! I am so glad to hear that all is well and you are getting your health in good order. I too was curious why the loss when there were times I went on starvation diets and never lost very much. Yes fasts were the norm after a binge as an atonement? Crazy I know now but then...

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: went for my 1 month post op.....

Thanks for the replies my good friends.
              MANY ask questions.
MY diet consists of 70 grams of protein for the day and 64 ounces of water and other diet juices and drinks.

AT a meal i can only manage to consume about 4 - 8 ounces depending on what i am eating. Cottage cheese i am stuffed on a small 4 ounce container, but i can drink an 8 ounces protein shake fine. I can go into a starvation mode with my body thats why the protein must be high. I am taught to eat my protein first, and if still hungry to eat my veggies next. Another reason i can loose is my body is not absorbing all the food i eat because a big part of my small intestine has been bypassed. So foods dont get absorbed into my body the same weight as a regular non surgery person.

FOR this i must always take my chewable multi vitamin and calcuim supplements. 3 months out i will be wathced for definicies such as VITAMIN B, potassium or other areas that my body my be deficient. ITS a life long montitoring but so far i feel this journey is well worth it. I really feel so good and with so much energy. I eat six mini meals a day...3 are my meals and 3 snacks. Feel free to ask me more questions any time my friends ....Hope i answered some of the asked questions

              HUGS

Re: went for my 1 month post op.....

Glad you are doing well. Now when are you cleared to start exercising again? How about long walks?

One thing when you go see your doc any weight loss will trigger the human body to put out more cholesterol which is why initally Atkins dieters find a rise too. so don't be surprized if you are up in cholesterol but down in triglycerides.

I under stand why you are low fsat right now beacuse fat delays tummy emptying by chemical stimulation when it incounters the start of the small intestine. Did you keep your connection there or did you get a new one and does the new one have the means to generate the slow motility chemical that fat causes to be generated when it hits the stomach small intiestine opening?
