This is NOT working for me. My lowest has been 306.5 and I started May 23rd at 322lbs. I do not cheat...I exercise...I drink water...and I eat the way I am suppose to and I am STILL not losing. This is really upsetting me and I think I need to find another WOE. Ketosis strips do not work for me...they are always clear. How can one NOT lose weight and follow everything to a tee?

Re: I guess I am going to find something else
Wow Limabean you have lost 15 pounds in less then 2 months! That's great. I know it can get discouraging but don't give up yet, just keep on doing what your doing (except throw those ketosis sticks in the trash) and soon you will see results. I know people here have said it but you have to believe me it is true, when you lose quickly your body takes some time to adjust. You have lost 15 pounds fairly quickly so maybe your body is adjusting. Don't give up just yet, up your water, up your workouts, don't forget your vitamins, and measure yourself. Your probably losing inches but the scale is not moving.
I know how you feel I have been at 200 for a month. I mean 200. If it would just move down one pound then I could be in Onderland, but the scale will not listen to reason. However whenever the desire to kick the scale sets in I just remember that it's ok, as long as I keep doing everythign right I know I will eventually get to where I want to be.
There is an awesome post by Moochiecat in the extended induction forum, she says some great things about not losing hope and acheiving your goals. Go check it out, you'll feel better. Do not dispair.

Re: I guess I am going to find something else
For some people it's just slow.
If you've had a history of rapid weight loss/gain, eating disorders, etc it could just be a slow thing. I've seen it take 2-3 years for some people to lose. You may need strict Induction. You may need to raise/lower calories. You may need vitamins, have a thyroid checkup etc etc.
Whatever plan you get on you need to have your expectations in line with what your body is capable of doing.
As long as you can drop a pound or two a month you will eventually reach goal. Some months may be more, others a complete stall.
Just keep working on it and don't give up.

Re: I guess I am going to find something else
SORRY TO hear your struggling....others have given you great advise. PERHAPS you suffer from metobolic resistance and dr. A does suggest supplements for that. On the website atkins.com there is an article on it........there is a little formula to figure out if you fall into this catagory.
I can fully relate to your frustrations trust me. BEEN THERE AND KNOW!

Re: I guess I am going to find something else
Is it possible that you are overeating? The program is to stop eating once hunger has been satisifed, no matter if there is food left on your plate, room in your belly, or carbs in your allowance. Dr. A says to stop eating as soon as your hunger is satisfied. Put the food away and then if you get hungry again, have some more of it. This is one of the subtle nuances of the plan and the most difficult to get right. I struggle with it daily. How many of us were taught, to "clean our plate, because there are starving children in the world"? I know I was and I still have difficulty stopping. One thing I do is take much smaller portions. Then you can clean your plate, yet your hunger is satisfied.
Another thing, if you do overeat, it is entirely possible to gain weight while eating this way. That is why th point above is a critical aspect of this plan.
Keep at it, it does work, and will work for you!
Good luck!Jim

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

Re: I guess I am going to find something else
Can you post a few days menus for review? There's often things veterans can pick out that might be causing problems.
Have you been measuring? It's very likely you have been losing inches, just not the weight.
Have you had your thyroid checked? Do you have PCOS or taking other meds that might affect you?
It's also likely it's a stall, which can happen. I have been in a stall since April (of weight loss) but have been losing some inches off and on. I know how discouraging it can be.
Hang in there and let us see what we can do to help.Start date: 2/22/04 347/222/135 ~ 5'2"
STAC Restart: 1/05/09
306/229/135 ~ 5'2" 77 lbs down!
Goal #1: 247 - 2nd 10% (59lbs, 247, also 100 lbs total loss) - Met 1/4/10!!!
Goal #2: 241 - Halfway to goal! (106 lbs lost) - Met 2/21/10!!!
Goal #3: 222 - 3rd 10% - Lowest Atkins weight
Goal #4: 210 - Still on track!
Goal #5: 200/199 - 4th 10% - One-derland! End year goal!

Re: I guess I am going to find something else
Sorry to hear you are having a rough time. I've been a slow loser lately too, so I can relate. I just know that I enjoy being on Atkins. I like the food. I do not feel deprived, so I can stick with it even if my losses have slowed. If you do decide to do something different, good luck! Everybody needs to find what works for them and I hope you find that (and I hope its atkins).Originally Started May 29, 2003 and lost 96 pounds. Fell off the wagon and gained over 100 pounds back. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!

Re: I guess I am going to find something else
Maybe you are losing inches not pounds?
I agree with posting some menus for us to take a look at. Maybe there is some hidden staller in there. Or maybe your body just needs a little longer to adjust. ALot of people experience a stall after there initial weight loss.
And I know you said you are drinking your water, but I just wondered how much? I found for me, I lose better when I drink around 120 oz a day.
Maybe you could try changing up your exercise routine a little as well. Some people have good success by just changing the routine.
I hope the scale moves for you soon, I know how hard it is to keep your focus when you feel you aren't seeing the results!
