Re: Anyone else melting in Michigan?

Wow -- thanks for all the replies! Glad to know I'm not the only one who can't stand the heat! The kids and I went to Wal Mart yesterday to enjoy the a.c. and just walked around the store for two hours. I'm not sure, but I think that makes me a hick.

Have you ever noticed how they make this hot, sticky weather look so sexy on TV and in movies? What a joke. DH and I went to bed last night, looked at each other, and started laughing. It was like: "Doesn't matter how much I love you -- don't even THINK about sweating on me!"

Oh, and I don't remember who asked, but yes, I think it's hot in Marshall, too. I live about an hour west of there -- going to a wedding there in two weeks.

"I don't know how ya'll deal with the winters you have. It's unusual we get much snow. We're more likely to get freezing rain than snow. Either way, we can't drive in it and just an inch of snow paralyzes our city. School is cancelled, the mall is closed, the whole nine yards. don't know how ya'll deal with the winters you have. I grew up in Vermont and very much miss the snowy winters! We got so much every year that everyone was prepared so schools and shops rarely closed. Never really needed AC then. I know we had hot summer days but I think the world is just warmer now - when we visit in the summertime we're very grateful for AC. Maybe I'm just spoiled!

In Arizona it was 112 tonight at 7 PM. Don't even say "Dry Heat" cause heat is heat. I miss NY weather and snow
LOL, I live in Norther NY, it was so hot and sticky yesterday I thought I was going to pass out! That being said it dropped to to low 60's last night and was great. So you really cannot beat NY! Love the snow and cold in the winter too..

I'm in Michigan and it has been a hot one this summer. But, I too will take it over winter. I hate winter!! I did my exercise yesterday and by the time I got home, I was covered in sweat and felt like I was dying. Usually on the hotter days I do the WATP 2 Mile tape and stay inside. For cooking, I love my George Foreman Grill. Those steaks would be done in about 9 minutes (depending on how you like them) and put it over salad. That is what we did yesterday. It comes in handy living right by the lake too, we have been taking dips in the lake pretty frequently. Really sets you up for some good sleeping.

I grew up in Ohio (moved to Michigan 4 yrs ago) and Ohio definitely tops the charts for humidity - or atleast it used to until this year - so I feel for you Ohioans too!

Hope you stay nice and cool!!!
