Any one notice a weird trend to their weight loss? Mine holds steady for 3-5 days, then spikes up 2 or 3 pounds for a couple days, then whoosh...6-10 pounds gone over thenext 3-4 days. Just wondering about others.

After induction and the dreaded induction pause, I would drop 4-7# over the course of a few days the nothing for several weeks, sometimes a month. Frustrating but when the whoosh came it was wonderful and SO worth it!

For most people its like this. You lose weight...your body adjusts...you lose more weight, ect. Sometimes it can be frustrating since the scale has a tendency to lie. I've gained 10lbs one night, yet the next day, it was gone plus a few more.

People who exercise are destined to battle the scale, because of muscle and water gain.

Yes, I see a similar thing. I lose some weight, then I go up a bit and hold steady. Then I will lose and go a pound or 2 below my lowest and then will gain again and hold steady. It can be frustrating, but as long as the trend is downward, I'm happy.

Same here! I think someone put it to me in these words: "You're body goes through three repeated stages during weight loss..."lose, rest, rebuild (muscle)." But I never get anything right, so that could be all mixed up! It seems to correctly describe what my body is doing.

I've come to truly hate the scales. At 1st I weighed only when I saw my doctor. Now, I'm going on measurements only. I'll probably weigh every few months or so. If that. Most of us are gulity of being far too concerned with the numbers

I've gone to using the doctor's scale for what I consider an "official" weigh-in. Mine bounces up and down all the time. But even on the doc's the weight will refuse to come off and then drop suddenly. I weighed in there on a Thursday one week and only lost one pound after two weeks of hard work. Checked in again with her four days later and saw a six-pound loss. Go figure.....

I agree weight loss is not linear and is weird. There are so many factors. Water retention, muscle changes, heat, humidity, phases of the moon, and phases of the month. I like my tape measure better!

                  Re: weird weight loss trends

Well I use the scale a lot and the most fun reason is to see that I'm losing weight, BUT the more important thing for me right now is to make sure I'm not gaining weight.

If I get on there and find that I've gone up a few pounds, I am scaling back and cleaning up my eating to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong. I gain sooo easily that I really have to keep my eye on that.
