I realized that I have not lost a single pound since February (on the bright side, I haven't gained a single pound either). I have to blame myself of course because it's so blatantly obvious as to why I was no longer losing:
1. slacking in exercise. Used to hit the gym 3-5 times per week, barely made it there at all over the last few months.
2. cheats! I'd stick for a 5 days to a week then cheat for a day or two. Obviously not a good idea
3. Partying
I admit. I've gone out with my friends drinking way too much (once a week, sometimes twice. And not just one or two. Many drinks..ie, go home drunk. Low carb drinks but so many empty calories)
Anyway. I've made a new committment to eliminate all of that. I am back on solid track as of Monday July 11.
- No more weekend drinking
- Do the slim in 6 program
- Back to induction
Due to the fact that I am doing the SI6 program, I am not going to weigh AT ALL (I know I WILL gain muscle and I do not want the scales to decieve me. Instead, I am just going to drudge through the 6 week program, relying on faith and measurements.
One thing that concerns me is that I am unable to get into ketosis. I have gone back to induction, and am doing it properly, but the sticks are always negative. Now I know the sticks aren't all that matters, but it has in the past been a good indication for me as to how my weightloss is progressing. I used to get into ketosis so easily. At least trace to moderate, sometimes very dark. Does it happen to some people where after some time following this WOE that your body becomes more resistant to ketosis? I know all the obvious solutions (ie, eat less as you lose since your body needs less food). I think I am consuming a reasonable amount given my size and activity. I have three decent meals a day and small snacks in between if I am hungry.
Anyway. I am a tad worried that I've become one of those people who do great losing and then suddenly hit a wall (poor Pammie comes to mind). As I said, I am going to stick it out and see what happens. If nothing else, I feel good mentally.
