Maybe setting yourself some mini-goals will help you in the short term, Beth?

Each day you succeed in staying on track is a success, so congratulate yourself for every day - or even meal - you do it right.

Try not to get too hung up on the time it takes to lose weight - if you follow Dr Atkins' rules you will get there in your body's own timetable.

After over 2 years I still have some way to go, but the inches and pounds are still melting slowly away, so I still plod on.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I understand..I have been on Atkins for 2.5 years..and still have a long way to go..Formyself I just take it a day at a time...It took us years to get to this point and it will take time to lose the weight..I'm doing this for my health..I feel better and I'm able to do more now than I could 2.5 years ago..I'm getting my life back..You can do this as long as you are patient..and remind yourse;f the longer it takes the better your chances are of keeping the weight off. I would suggest you stay away from the scal and instead measure yourself once a month to track your loss...Hang in there...You are worth it!

When I get down I think how long have I been fat? Well it will take a while to come off. You need to wrap your mind around the fact this is forever not just until you get skinny. This is your new life. You have already had your share of cookies and cakes or whatever makes you drool for the rest of your life. Cheer up my friend we are all in this with you.

You are doing great...looking at your stats is very impressive! Don't give up! Think of how much better you're feeling without the carb brain fog. Think about all the healthy and satisfying foods you get to indulge in! Steak, salad and a veggie topped with a little cheese...where else are you going to find "diet" dinner like that? Have you taken a before picture? I find that sometimes when I'm a little down I whip those out, pat myself on the back and look toward the future. Don't think of it as "willpower" that you have to battle but choices. You can make the right choice. Keep on keeping on...you can do it!!!!!!

Your are doing great!!! Look at all the weight you have lost. That is proof that this WOE is working for you. Do you realize that you are already 1/4 of the way to your goal!!! That is totally awesome!!

Just remember that your body has to adjust to then pounds lost so this will take time. After all you don;t want to be walking around in skin that is still size 304 when the rest of you is only 160 LOL.

Keep the faith, you are doing great!

                Re: help...willpower fading

You've already lost 34 pounds...it is working for you!!!

I started out at about the same weight as you and I understand how it can feel unrealistic at times. But I just take it day by day and I lose a pound here and there. If you keep it up, you'll see a pound here and there too, and before you know it, you'll be at goal!

Also, at times when I think its not working and I want to stop, I think, "well, what are my options?" In my case, other diets haven't worked for me. So my other option is to stop and probably gain all of the weight back, plus some. That's not really an option for me, so I stick it out. What are your options?
