  • Foods with More Fat than Protien

    Hi,

I've been having a really hard time getting more fat in my diet than protien. I was just wondering if anyone knew of some foods that have more fat than protien, without having tons of carbs (like nuts)

    Right now Im using:

    Oils
    butter
    avocados
    bacon
    eggs.
    cheese.

Are there any others out there that Im missing?

    Cream comes to mind.
    Fatty meats.
Also some nuts have almost no carbs and all fat.(hazelnuts)
As long as your carbs are right you shouldn't worry about the fat/protein ratio. I never even looked at my ratio.

I have been having the same problem lately too. I can't keep my protien below 40%. Does this slight difference really cause that much headache? I used to be able to get my fat in no problem but since I hit a big stall I have been watching my calorie intake as well. It's very difficult to get 65% fat in a diet when your trying to keep your calories at 1800.

How do you guys do it?

Yoli, you're not kidding. Its really is hard. I've been trying to find more creative ways to get the right balance in my diet without eatting too many calories. I try to keep my calories at 1400 or under. One way to accomplish this is by eatting meats with few calories but cooking them in butter or olive oil. Avocados are a big help too.

              Sample menu

Morning If you ate 2 egg scrambled in butter with 4 thin slices of bacon, you would eat about 420 calories

Lunch 7oz of fish (I like tilapia) fried in 1 tablespoon of butter and deglazed with a squeeze of lemon. Thats the right amount of fat but only 312 calories. Add a big salad and your only at about 320

Dinner 2 cups unpealed BBQ shrimp, marinated in 1 tablespoon of olive oile, salt, and a little lemon. Thats only 354 calories. You can add 4 ounces of guacamole and a salad. That a meal of about 508 calories

When I typed it into fitday it came to 1229 calories, 65% fat. Thats a lot of food with very few calories. You could even throw in a snack or two if you were hungery and still stay under 1500.

Let me know if you have any low cal, high fat receipts.

              V.

It seems us women have to maintain that balance more then most men. They just seem to lose easier on this diet in general. (Not a slam, gentlemen, just the truth) Also, if you can stomach them, olives help alot. They add a little carb, but lots of fat. But cream and Mayo are the most tasty additions for me! Yum!
