  • Whats going on???

    I havent really posted in awhile...still coming on everyday to look at everyones post, kind of a bad week. Havent got my excersise in, i have lots of excuses..car broke down, dvd player broke, no babysitter, and the list goes on.

    I've been eating okay, but i have to admit a couple mess ups, yesterday i was at my gmas and starving so i grabbed a little debbie, nothing atkins in her house. went to the fair and ate about 5 french fries, and this week i was sick of eggs so went to a resturant that has an atkins page and ate 3 of thier pancakes. Slacking on the water too, drinking way to much diet pop.

    I dont understand, Im getting GREAT results from this WOL and I get comments all the time about how Im looking better, so whats wrong with me?

    I know how frustrating it can be at times & how it can sometimes be hard to stick to the same foods, you should try throwing some different atkins friendly recipies in.

    I keep peperret sticks (1 carb each) in my bag and snack on them when i am hungry or when i am somewhere that doesnt have atkins friendly foods.

    If you really stick with it you can accomplish your goals, good luck!

      I completely understand how hard it is to resist temptation. What helps me is keeping Atkins friendly snacks in my purse, so no matter where I go if I'm hungry I can eat something that isn't going to make me feel horrible the next day. For example, some great things to keep in your purse would be nuts, string cheese, jerky, pork rinds, etc. That way you don't give into the "little debbie" trap or the "french fry" trap again. Also keep a bottle of water with you. All these things will help you when you feel you can't make it. I

        Sounds like alot of excuses to me. You are lucky, you are still losing despite your actions. Theres going to come a point where that doesn't happen. You need to recommit to why you are losing weight and whats most important.

        There is hardly ever a good reason for not exercising. Excuses to no do it are easy to come by. What you need to do is come up with a reason TO exercise. you should already have some, peoples comments on how good you look, how your clothes fell, ect. Those are reasons to drink your water, avoid temptation and exercise.

        Kinda like Yoda says, "do it or don't there is no try"...or something like that, I am best at paraphrasing.

          we have a life time of experience getting happy thoughts and emotions from those high carb foods and just or recent Atkins memeories as good experiences with the low carb stuff so it is tought to break those neural pathways and retrain the brain to think only low carb thoughts and weaken those pathways to the joy we had from the high carb stuff. That is what exercising will power is all about.
          Can you honestly say before Atkins WOL you have a happy memory about eating veggies that made you feel better when you were stressed, happy when you were sad or blue or calm when stress??? Didin't think so. Dr Brain has all those memories and some you can't recall stored in your brain in several triggering files and why you experience situations like the events you posted about it starts prescribing the foods it knows from your past experiences will cause you to fell better cause they not only have happy memories but many of them like the chocolate mimic neurotransmitters in the brain the cause those good feelings for a short period of time.

          So in order to be an Atkins success you need to retrain Dr Brain with some low carb stuff, exercise or other strss reducesers like meditaion that will release feel good chems in the brain and alter your natureally alter your neurotransmitters like exercise highs

          AND you need to start valuing the good things your low carb eating gives you more then the pleasures the high carb stuff gives you. make you a list of what the fries meant to you and what they cost you and do the same with your other stuff and then when you are tempted you can count the cost before you spend it.

            Thanks for the advice..i used my computer today to excersise, just popped my dvd in and worked my tussy off...it felt great!! also went and bought a bigger purse to put good food in!! thanks again
