Well, as most of you know, I have been out the past week due to having a hysterectomy. I came home Thursday, and although I can't spend much time sitting at the computer...I decided to stoop over the keyboard and send you a quick hello and update.
The surgery went well. I am sore but feeling good and looking forward to recovery. Have read a lot about the estrogen weight gain and that has me concerned, but this past week has shown no gain...so I am hopeful. They have me on the patch, so anyone with any insight on that I would appreciate it.
Also, want to let all of you know that my stay in the hospital did in no way stop my WOE/WOL. I refused the NON-ATKINS foods and stuck to my guns. When the dietician questioned me, I advised her that I had put on my sheet that I was low-carb for any dietary restrictions and would do without instead of jeopardizing my way of eating. She immediately left and returned with a bowl of sugar-free jello and from then on....she sent me only ATKINS FRIENDLY meals. When they put me on the solid food menu...she sent me a deli platter (lettuce, tomato, cheese, meat) instead of the club hoagie sandwich. She also sent me cottage cheese instead of the mac/cheese side dish.
I also educated everyone who asked about my WOE. I have two nurses that said they would check out the site and we shared recipes at night on their breaks. I feel good about spreading the positive side of Atkins and what it has done for me.
All went well...I am recuperating and appreciate all your good wishes and emails. Thanks to you all!
