  • I ran the Crim 5k

I have not been on the boards in a long time, but I wanted to share this great success with all of you! I ran the Flint Crim 5k race. No, I was not a first place winner, heck, I would have been grateful for being in the top fifty. I was number 99 in the 30-34 age category, and there were 104 participants. However, I have been wanting to do this race since I first started Atkins in June '04, and realized it was a possibility. I whooped and hollered the whole way through because I was just so excited. The festival of races includes a 10 mile, two 8ks, two 5ks, a one mile and a teddy bear trot. There were over 7,000 people in the 10 mile, so there were about 10,000 runners participating. It was just such a thrill. And 60 lbs ago, there was not even a chance that I would have done anything but cheer from the side of the road. Yesterday, they cheered me. Thanks to all for all of your support. Love, Ann

Congratulations on completing it. 99th out 104 is not bad at all, at least you beat 5 people. Next time you'll beat 10, and then 20 the possibilities are endless.

Its a great feeling when you finish a race isnt it?

Well done. heres to the next one.....

Woo hoo! I live in Midland. It was a warm day to run the Crim. I can't even fathom doing something like that yet. What a rush for you! Great job!
