    Hi--New to ADBB

Hi Everyone!! I wanted to introduce myself as a new member to the CC club. I just started Atkins yesterday and thought the ADBB would be helpful. I am only 4' 7" and weigh 207 lbs . Because of my height, I should weigh between 100-105lbs. I am an RN in Tennessee, married, with two teenage boys....I have tried every diet known to mankind, but almost lost interest immediately because of the restrictions of them. There is not telling how much money I have spent trying to lose weight. The Atkins Diet is the only one I feel like I can truly do and STICK TO! You can actually eat on the plan! Anyway, just wanted to say hello. Any advice would be appreciated!!

    Tamara

Welcome Tamara! I have always found the first three days to be the toughest. After that all the sugar and carbs are out of your system and there are no more bad cravings. Make sure you eat enough to keep you satisfied. And don't eat low fat, you need the fat to satisfy and feel full.

    And Good Luck!

Welcome! You've come to a great place for support and advice. I would recommend reading DANDR and all the stickies, and the posts relevant to your level, and asking questions about all the bits you don't get, thats what I did. And I am amazed at the help I've received.

Hi, welcome to our family. You've received the best information already -- to make sure you read the book and follow the plan exactly as Dr. Atkins prescribed.

All of us who have a history of being overweight can relate to "tried every diet known to mankind". However, re-program yourself to think of this as a new way of living and eating....not a diet. (DIET is a temperary way to lose weight, whereas ATKINS is a lifestyle change that will keep you healthy for the rest of your life)

BEST WISHES and keep us posted on your success!!

Welcome! You have received such good advice; I don't think I have anything to add. Glad to have another member of the family around though, and congratulations on finding your way to this wonderful way of life.

welcome to ADBB and to Atkins. you should read the induction section of our board first so you understand when that headache arrives and the rest of the induction flu like symptoms you are fine and they will pass.

remember you are a carb junkie in detox and need to stay clean!

what you doing about that mandatory exerics part of your Atkins plan?
