Hey y'all! This here town's been pretty quiet 'round here!

I ain't heard so much quiet since old Earl ate too many colt .45 beans and told us to pull his finger.

    Le't's get this hootenanny a-goin'!

I'm fixin' to go volunteer this mornin', but when she's comes 'round the mountain, I 'spect to see some folks moseyin' in to say howdy!

Today my goal's to walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes and drink 100 oz of water. Yee!

    Howdy there Jamie!

    Well gol'dang it.

my goal today is fur me and mine to survive the day after older kiddo's slumber party by jiminey!

ok enough spaghetti-westernish-speak for me today. LOL!!

I will have 5 kids here all day and will be running stuff from the house to the little pool out back and up and down the stairs from the deck to ground level stairs.

There's plenty of water on tap (yes pun intended) and I will get my 100 oz in before I sleep.

LOL You guys! You have me cracking up, here!

Kat, I so haven't exercised the last 2 days! I had the flu two days ago and a case of the "Mom-can-you-make-me-something-German-foodwise-it's-due-tomorrow" itis!

Of course, reason #2 is no excuse!

BTW, I took in the streusel kuchen, and his teacher laughed and said it wasn't due until next Friday.

LOWCARB-- you have a fun weekend! If you get arrested, we'll come bail you out!

Cleo- Poor girl. I'm guessing it's not low carb. Kids.... you gotta love em!

I am watching a friends little girl tonight so I think I will take my little one and her out for a wagon ride. Can I do 3 miles pulling a wagon? I guess I will find out.

Dinner is going to be a tomatoe, meat, vegetable sauce on top of spaghetti squash. Yummy! I have only had 4-16 oz. glasses of water so far. I need to get drinking.

I hope everyone has a safe and low carb weekend!

I got my cardio done earlier today, but still have my time on the bench later tonight. As for water, I have my last 32 oz to make 96 for the day sitting next to me at the computer.

I am here, but I probably won't be on for the rest of the weekend. Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of my Dad's death so I'm going to hang out with the family.

Re: Friday Git R Done Roll Call!!

I'm here...I'm here. I was off work today...I had breakfast with a friend (had eggs and chorizo with cheese, now I'm doing my post-eating-out paranoia--"did they put milk in the eggs before they scrambled them? did they put flour in their chorizo?" I need a chill pill!!) Then I went to my son's after-school program, and helped them plan and set up their new childhood-literacy push. Then after DS got out of school, we went to see Star Wars for the 11th time. I'm a bit behind on my water. But hey, for the FIRST time, I didn't sit through the second half of the movie wondering if my bladder was going to explode!! I'm catching up on my water now....~JoAnne

ps....I'm two pounds lighter today!!! Take THAT, pms!!!

Re: Friday Git R Done Roll Call!!

I got her done, alrite! Okay, let me stop frontin', I can't speak a lick of western-talk. Can talk a little street, but let's not and not say we did.

I had the best time at the gym today!! I can't believe I just said that. I didn't want to leave!!

I started with 10 minutes on the eliptical to warm up. That was a BIG DEAL to me because I was so afraid of it just two weeks ago. It takes sooo much more 'umph to work out on it than the treadmill or bike. I worked up to that 10 minutes (lol).

Then, I did 20 minutes on the treadmill, Level 2, Hills -- again BIG deal for me, as I am still quite heavy and have only been exercising regularly for 3 weeks now (since the start of 6WEC #20). I was basically killing time waiting for my trainer to show up.

My trainer is focusing on strength training with me because I figure I can do the cardio myself. I LOVE lifting. I used to lift regularly about 10 years ago and I absolutely loved it then. I've only met with Melissa (trainer) 3 times now - today was workout #3. The girl is working me OUT and I love every minute of it. She says I'm strong, but I don't know if that's just talk or what, but I'm watching the weight she gives me and it ain't nothing to sneeze at. My legs are much stronger than my upper body though. Anyway, 30 minutes strength training, then...

She took me over to different type of eliptical machine (much smoother) and showed me how to work it. I LOVED it!!! OMG, me loving exercise -- this is extra-strange!! We worked out together for about 25 minutes before I gave up. This woman had not bust a single drop of perspiration (she's a little thing and extremely fit). I needed to take care of other errands, but I swear I could have gone longer.

                  What a great day!!

Then, I went to a strip mall and did something amazing and different FOR ME -- I actually parked my car in one space and left it there, while I walked up and down the strip (long strip!! - at least 3 intersections w/ 4-way stop signs) to the stores I wanted to browse!! I was soo proud of myself. I know - little things, but big for me.

AND... I got my water in today - at least 96 oz.

I had an excellent Friday - I GOT 'R DUN!!

This weekend I have a family reunion picnic on Saturday (local for me) and Sunday and Monday, I intend to rest and do a little housework and laundry - whew!!

Have a great Holiday Weekend all!!

I can SOOOOO totally relate to what you're saying about the elliptical. I have felt like such a loser everytime I get on the thing next to some 20 year old Barbie at the gym. haha It's nothing for them to do 40 mins on it, and after a week.. I've worked my way up to 8 minutes. LOL (Just a little factoid.. that's how long it takes to read the article about Wynonna Judd in the new LHJ if you promise yourself that you won't get off the machine till you're done w/ the article. Jeez!)

Good job NMP! I've actually found myself enjoying my exercise lately too. Who woulda thunk it?! haha Definitely not me (or anyone else that knows me)

I so agree with this. There are some elliptical trainers that are so jerky or more that they feel worse than actually jogging. It's that little kick or part you throw your foot at the end of range of motion (best I can describe it). I hate those machines. A salesmen trying to sell me a similar machine said it was to emulate running motion rather than a striding motion. Uggg. Give me my smooth striding life fitness model at my gym anytime.

Re: Friday Git R Done Roll Call!!

I have to get out and do something today. I got a whole batch of really cheap exercise videos that I can't wait to break into. Some are old Richard Simmons ones and if I can make it through without laugh breaks, all will be well. I know the stuff works as funny as it is, but sometimes he does some kind of reach or stretch and says something and I just have to laugh. I figure I am working the face muscles at the same time. But, man, do I need to clean the living room so I have more space....Gotta love little apartments.
