  • Any silly moments you want to share?

I was volunteering at school today when I saw a young lady making copies next to the copier I was using.

To make conversation I asked her if she was helping any teacher in particular, to which she responded that she was a student teacher helping with second grade. She said she expected to be in pre school next year.

I said, "Aren't you a little tall for pre school?"

I work for the RTA in my county. I have to ride a couple routes and monitor the drivers and riders. Well we changed some of the routes from last semester and the driver was trying to be as nice as possible of course (couldnt be because i was there?) and a passenger went CRAZY on him. He stayed calm and this woman was screaming at the top of her lungs, she said "im not riding this rta anymore, i want off!" and while he was driving she stood up and walked to the door talking all types of smack to this driver, well....she tripped over her own foot and fell flat on her face, LMAO! right infront of me, i tried so hard not to laugh but it just came out! and along with my laughter was the rest of the passengers. and this just fueled her fire even more! she went insane!!! the driver finally stopped at his stop and opened the door, she headed down the steps...and BAM right on her face she fell again on the sidewalk. ROFL!!!! the most hilarious thing i've ever noticed. Had to share, hopefully you can see the humor.....

LOL!Maybe there's a proverb in there somewhere: "Don't complain about the bus driver when it's apparent you don't know how to walk on your own".

Ok, this happened when I was in my twenties, but I still remember it like it was yesterday...

I have a friend named RUTHIE. She is very prim and proper..never a hair out of place. She dresses very professional and always wears nice heels. My other friend and I went to pick her up at her work (bank) for lunch. My friend and I had on jeans and t-shirts. We went to an Italian eatery where you go up and get your food and walk back to your table with it. It is sort of a fast-food Italian resturant.

Kathy and I were sitting at the table with our food and Ruthie started heading towards us with her plate of spaghetti. There was a one-step drop-off before you were in the dining area. Ruthie tripped on the step, balanced her plate for about two minutes jiggling it left and right trying to keep it from falling, but her heel caught on the step and she fell face first into the plate of spaghetti. Kathy and I sounded like a pack of hyenas laughing so hard. Ruthie was humiliated, jumped up and ran out of there with spaghetti hanging all over her. She jumped in her car and sped away.

We went back to the bank to see if she was there. She drove up 1/2 hour later, showered, dressed in nice clothes and looking like she always does. She walked right past us and didn't say a word as she went back to work. It took her about a week to talk to us again, but WOW, that was funny.

I think it was worth the week of not talking to each other. I don't think I could have held it in, either

When I was around 15 or 16, my mom had me washing dishes after dinner one evening. As I scrubbed, I gazed out the window above the sink...which looked out onto our backyard with a lovely view of the tall weeds. My jerk of an older brother was walking in the backyard among the weeds, and then it happened. It was exactly like you see in the cartoons. He stepped onto the tines of a rake that was hidden in the weeds. Yep....the handle flew up and smacked him right in the middle of the eyes, breaking his glasses. I was laughing so hard I was crying, and it was at least 15 minutes or so before I could control myself enough to finish washing the dishes. He, of course, wanted to kill me, but to this day I break out in giggles every time I think of it!!

Funny story JoAnne.. something similar happened to me once. Except the rake went thru my foot. I, of course, would have preferred what happened to your brother. LOL

Re: Any silly moments you want to share?

Speaking of older brothers...I have 2. When we were kids we had a boat docked in Scappose Oregon and would spend the weekends there. One day the younger of the two was sitting on the dock making fun of my oldest brother and was rocking back and forth in mock hard laughter and then *plop* fell into the river. He started screaming he was going to drown "Help! Save me!" and then he stood up. None of us have ever forgotten or let him forget! Lol!

Another moment...me and the youngest of my 2 older brothers were told by our dad to take the extra leaf ouf of the table. We got the leaf out but couldn't figure out how to put the table back right...in trying to push it together the genius broke one of the legs. We pondered our problem and he announces "Glue! We need glue!" So we glue it on thinking we've been so clever to hide it. Mom and Dad come home. Dad sits down at the table with a cup of coffee. From my room (yes I was hiding) *Thump! G** Dam* It!!!!" a lot of intense swearing and the dreaded "KIDS! GET YOUR A**ESS OUT HERE!" We had a lot of explaining to do...but it was secretly hilarious.

There was also another time I put dish soap in the water resevior on the coffee pot. *Hmph!* I've never seen my mom so confused.

A funny low-carb related story happened a few years ago, when my sister was doing "her version" of Atkins. Around valentines day, Russell Stover came out with a heart-shaped box of low-carb chocolates. My mom and I each bought her a box....and she ate them all in one afternoon. These were the MALITOL kind, and needless to say, she was in the bathroom all night long.

Well, it wasn't funny for her, but it was for me...

Okay...here's a funny thing that happened to ME this evening. I pulled a salad out of the fridge (I make a weeks worth on Sundays and put them in individual containers) and proceeded to do my usual with it....open it, pour on dressing, then close it and shake to distribute the dressing. Well, for the first time, I hadn't sealed the container fully, and when I began to shake it....salad when flying all over my freshly cleaned kitchen!!!

                          Actually, it was sooooo funny.

LOL I've never put the dressing on the salad beforehand. Doesn't it make the lettuce soggy at all? If not, great time saver!!!

Yes, it does make the salad soggy, so when I pack my salads beforehand, I leave out the dressing. When I'm ready to eat each one, I THEN add the salad and shake. I usually pour out the dressing into snack-sized ziploc bags to take to work, then I just cut off a corner and squirt...
