You guys know me...I try to always stay positive and help everyone. But something has happened that has really TICKED me off. I am in charge of a conference. I ordered the meals months ago. I ordered a breakfast/luncheon buffett that would last throughout the day. It had a variety of pastries, muffins, cookies, smoothies, croissants, meats, cheeses, veggies w/dips, chips, pretzels, popcorn and variety of fresh fruits and drinks. I thought this would be good because last year people complained that they were hungry throughout the day. This buffet would last from 8am-4pm. At night, we have a huge banquet and I always order a tremendous amount of food and it is a big feast. So, I thought this would allow everyone a chance to get something to eat.
I've been letting others take care of the arrangements this past month while I was recuperating from surgery. I already had most of the stuff done, so I was letting them take care of any last minute things that took place. WELLLLLLLL, they have disappointed me big time. I now find out they changed the menu to a NON ATKINS FRIENDLY meal at lunch. Not that I am going to be tempted to cheat, cause I will make do with what I have to, but it was a comment that was made to me. When I questioned it, I was told by someone who I never expected to hear anything like this from -- "Well, not everyone is on a DIET." I didn't consider my selection to be a DIET meal. I thought that it would accomodate everyone. After all, I couldn't even eat most of the stuff, except some of the veggies, fruits and the meats/cheese without the buns.
Anyways, it is just the attitude that I was spoken to that TICKED me off. I don't flaunt my way of eating on anyone. I do what I need to do, pick and choose from the menu .. and avoid what is there that I can't eat. I never complain about it. I just think that this was something that was done to try to jeopardize my WOE. I don't think it was a necessary thing that needed to be done. I'll just be sure to pack some friendly foods in my suitcase.
OK, I'm done venting. I just needed to get this off my breast today. Thanks
