Couple of setbacks this afternoon. She's not eating well, so they put in a feeding tube, so what she isn't finishing (breast milk, feeding and what has been pumped) she gets the rest in the tube.

We also got the results from the ultrasound today. She has two ureters per kidney (most people - 90%- have one). This is causing urine reflux which is how the UTI got into her kidneys and consequently her blood. This means she is going to have surgery at 6 months, and a test later this week will determine what they will do. But she will be in the hospital for at least another week. It seems like she's been there that long already and it's only been a little over 24 hours. When she comes home she'll be on antibiotics until she has the surgery.

It wasn't until conversations today that we realized how close we were to something really bad happening. She in the best children's hospital in the world, and now that I've been there I now know why. But as sick as she is the other kids in the unit make her look so healthy, I need to be thankful for all that is well with her.

Thanks you all for the prayers, it means a lot to us.
I'll post a new pic soon, she got cute again.
    Jim

We'll keep em coming!!!!! Thanks for letting us know how she's doing. I (as well as many others here) have been and will continue to keep her in my prayers, as well as your entire family. I spent a weekend with my youngest son when he was 3 weeks old in a children's hospitial and I feel for ya when you say how long it feels, that was the longest weekend in my life.

God bless you and your family.

At least you know where the problem is now. That makes it so much easier to deal with when you know why it is happening. We will keep praying for her. I'm sure she will be home ruling the house in no time.
