    Hello,

I am new here and someone should correct me if I am wrong, but most people in this forum avoid the Atkins foods at least in the beginning. I have read where the posters here call them "Franken Foods" so I am betting you would be better off with a recipe from the site.

      Hi, BAM! Baby is right.

Especially if you're in induction you do not want to buy any kind of a mix. I would highly recommend that (if you are out of induction) you make a cheesecake from scratch using one of the low-carb recipes you can find at ADBB. It won't have the chemicals, will cost less, and you can control precisely what goes into your body.

Just because Atkins makes something doesn't mean that we should buy or eat it. I would definitely consider those products to be Frankenfoods, which are contrary to the concept of eating whole, minimally processed foods. You'd be better off using a low-carb cheesecake recipe that's appropriate for your phase of Atkins. If nothing else, combine some cream cheese and your favorite flavor of sugar free syrup...then stick it in the fridge until firm...

          JoAnne,

Are those DaVinci syrups I read about on here ok for induction? I am actually on extended induction and will be FOREVER, but wanted to know if I could have it every once in a while for a sweet craving.

you can use extract and your sweetener with your cream cheese or you can bake cheese cake from scratch using a ADBB reciope from our database just besure it is induction friendly. LisaM has a cheese puff type creese cake in her journal that is just sweetner egg and cream cheese.

it will fall when complete and when you get to OWL you can fill it with berries but in induction you could fill it with rhubard or pumpkin

DaVinci is flavored splenda liquid and while if you are trying to kill a sweet tooth you really should avoid that stuff for your 14 day induction those on extended induction should be able to use them for occational treats as you ask. Dr Atkins hadf a great Quote about the dessert recipes in his books and it went Desserts and sweets should be occaisonal treats not everyday events!

              2big,
Thanks so much. I am going to go look for Lisa's journal now.
